VinFast Is Making an Investment in Batteries Production and Clean Energy in Telangana
VinFast is investing $2 billion in Telangana to develop electric vehicles, battery manufacturing, and renewable energy projects. This strategic expansion supports India’s green goals and economic growth.

VinFast is making plans to expand its business operations in India. The Vietnamese brand is not just making electric cars, but is also planning to transition the brand composition. A few days ago, the brand appointed Bhartendu Singh as the new Chief Marketing Officer, and recently, the brand decided to make a huge investment in Telangana, India. This move aligns with the state’s ambitious vision of becoming a hub for green energy and futuristic automotive manufacturing.
Furthermore, the brand had performed marvellously in the October EV sales of 2025. VinFast, being a new entrant in the Indian electric automotive landscape, has surpassed Tesla’s sales of 40 units in October 2025. The brand has been able to sell around 131 units since its inception two months ago. These figures underscore their pledge to accelerate India’s green transition and boost local economic growth.
VinFast Showcases Early Success

The Vietnamese brand officially entered the Indian market in 2025 and has been moving with full throttle. Within its debut, the brand has successfully opened 24 operational dealerships across the country. Major cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad have gained electric charging station infrastructure. The company has stated that they are on the verge of reaching 35 outlets by the end of 2025.
Currently VinFast has two models, the VF6 and the premium VF7, for the Indian market. However, the upcoming 7-seater electric SUV has been spied while testing on Indian roads. This upcoming 7-seater electric SUV might be called the VinFast Limo Green 7and will be the first-ever 7-seater vehicle for the country.
VinFast’s Vision for Telangana’s EV Infrastructure
During recent high-level negotiations at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, VinFast showcased its keen interest in establishing electric vehicle manufacturing units, battery storage facilities, and clean energy projects in Telangana. The company also insisted on accepting the proposal of investment to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in New Delhi.
The investment will not only focus on EV production but also on energy management systems, including battery technology and renewable sources such as solar and wind power. This might be the starting phase for VinFast to create a sustainable mobility hub in Telangana and the rest of India.
Strategic Expansion For Bharath Future City
The VinFast executive is also showing interest in the state’s proposed Bharath Future City. The idea was proposed by Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, who contended that the conglomerate intended to distribute the possibilities across the state. These range from increased foreign direct investment inflows to technology transfer and skill development.
The proposed facilities are expected to create thousands of jobs, ranging from manufacturing to research and development roles in battery and energy management technologies.

This multi-state strategy helps VinFast mitigate supply chain risks while catering to the growing demand in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Indian cities, where the adoption of electric mobility is rapidly increasing. The investment signifies VinFast’s strategic focus on expanding its footprint beyond Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
