Volkswagen India has recently introduced an all-new ‘flash-red’ color for its Virtus and Taigun GT Line trim variants. This new color scheme coincides with the upcoming Onam festival in Kerala. Catering to the state’s love for bold aesthetics, this limited edition colorway accentuates the sporty GT Line trim, making the cars even more dynamic for the festive season.
The launch of these limited-edition models will coincide with Onam, one of Kerala’s grandest festivals. With this the brand will be highlighting Volkswagen’s focus on blending cultural connection with automotive essence. Kerala has always been a significant market player for the brand. Virtus controls nearly half of the premium sedan market in Kerala.
The carmaker handed over 106 vehicles to customers, stating its growing trajectory across the state. Moreover, the Virtus is one of the highest-selling premium sedans in the state, holding about 49% of the market share in the premium sedan segment.
The Volkswagen GT Line is not just about the looks; it brings a vibrancy to the dynamic designs of the Virtus and Taigun, which blend as standout designs with signature performance and exciting features.
These highlights cement the GT Line’s sporty yet safe and practical appeal, offering a balance of luxury and Volkswagen’s trademark performance.
As per the official reports, speaking at the launch of the all-new limited edition model, Mr. Nitin Kohli, Brand Director of Volkswagen India, said, “Kerala has been one of our focus markets, and this year we are very delighted to celebrate the festive spirit of Onam Chingam with the introduction of this new color.”
He later added, “Kerala’s discerning customers have made the Virtus the highest-selling premium sedan in the state, with the sedan currently capturing a market share of 49% in its premium segment.”

Beyond this festive update, Volkswagen’s India portfolio includes the Taigun, Virtus, Tiguan R-Line, and Golf GTI, aligning with its global pursuit of smart mobility, e-mobility, and ongoing digital transformation. The new ‘Flash Red’ addition emphasizes the brand’s commitment to offering freshness, exclusivity, and an unmistakable sporty identity.
The all-new Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun GT Line Limited Edition share the same powertrain and features. However, with sporty appeal and the addition of color to the portfolio, they created a unique option for Kerala customers. For people who are seeking a sporty premium sedan, the Virtus stands out as the perfect choice, while those who want a rugged SUV stance will be drawn to the Taigun. This festive season, the decision rests purely on personal style and preference.
