Can charge at a 150kW per second rate.

The electric SUV will be produced locally for the first time in India at the Volvo site in Hoskote, which is close to Bengaluru. Volvo's website is the only place to purchase the XC40 Recharge, and orders may be placed starting on July 27 for a nominal fee of Rs 50,000.
One 11kW wall-box charger and a three-year car and eight-year battery warranty are included with the purchase of the XC40 Recharge.
Volvo XC40 Recharge Range, Battery and Performance

The Volvo XC40 Recharge has a 78kWh battery with a 150kW DC rapid charging capacity that, according to claims, can charge the vehicle from zero to eighty percent in 33 minutes. Volvo claims that the XC40 Recharge can be fully charged in roughly 2.5 hours using a 50kW fast charger, which is more widely available.
The XC40 Recharge is offered in India in the higher-spec "Twin" version, which has two electric motors, one on each axle, producing 408hp and 660Nm of torque. This version has a claimed range of 418km on the WLTP cycle.
This puts it on par with the larger, more expensive Audi e-Tron 55 Quattro and nearly twice as powerful as the gasoline-powered XC40. The XC40 Recharge has a quick 0-100 speed of 4.9 seconds thanks to all that power, but the EV is 400kg heavier than the gasoline variant, coming in at 2,188kg.
Volvo XC40 Recharge Exterior Design and Dimensions

With modest visual changes including a new variant of the "Thor's Hammer" DRL and restyled bumpers, the XC40 Recharge that has arrived in India is essentially the facelifted version. The Recharge is 15mm longer than the gasoline-powered XC40, but because of the battery pack, it has a slightly reduced ground clearance of 175mm. It has a blacked-out grille, new dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, and a larger trunk with a capacity of 452 liters plus an extra 31 liters under the hood.
Volvo XC40 Recharge Features

The XC40 Recharge uses the infotainment and telematics systems from the redesigned XC60, which results in new, clearer digital dials and an infotainment system based on Android. With the aid of an onboard e-SIM, the driver has direct access to Google Maps, Assistant, and a number of PlayStore apps.
A panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a full complement of sensor-based ADAS technology with Level 2 Autonomous driving, linked vehicle technology, powered front seats with driver-side memory, and a high-end Harman Kardon sound system are all included with the XC40 Recharge.
Volvo XC40 Recharge: how it compares with other EVs

The XC40 Recharge price is India Rs 55.90 lakh. It is priced between other high-end EVs such as the Mini Cooper SE and the BMW i4 and Kia EV6. The Hyundai Ioniq 5, which will be introduced the following year and will also be domestically assembled, will also face off against the XC40 Recharge.
