Yamaha R15 Range: Price Cut Details

Yamaha has announced a price drop of Rs 5,000 across all its R15 variants, effective from January 5, 2026. With the revised pricing, the R15 range now starts at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), strengthening its position in the premium 150cc sportbike segment.
The revised price list now looks like this:
- Yamaha R15 S: Rs 1,50,700
- Yamaha R15 V4: Rs 1,66,200
- Yamaha R15 M: Rs 1,81,100
However, Yamaha hasn’t announced any specific end date for this offer, yet the revised prices are expected to be available for a limited time, subject to the company’s discretion.
Strategic Timing for Yamaha

The slash in the prices seems to be a strategic move of Yamaha’s plan to reinforce its presence in the Indian market, as the 150cc sportbike segment is a very competitive segment here in India. With growing competition from both domestic and international manufacturers, pricing can play a key role in enhancing R15 position and makes it a more attractive option for buyers who want a sporty motorcycle without moving up to higher-capacity machines. Along with that there are indications that the brand could introduce a larger R2 model in India later this year. Until then, the R15 remains as Yamaha’s flagship supersport motorcycle in the country.
A Proven Performer in the Segment

The Yamaha R15 has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s entry-level supersport segment. Since its launch in the Indian market, the motorcycle has earned a loyal fanbase thanks to its race-inspired design, engaging riding dynamics, and accessible performance. In fact, Yamaha has already manufactured over one million units of the R15 in India, marking its popularity and long-standing appeal. Beside the price cut, there are no mechanical or feature changes to the motorcycle. The R15 continues to be powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, known for its high-revving nature and balanced performance. The engine is paired with a slick-shifting gearbox and is designed to offer a blend of sporty riding and everyday usability.
