Citroen Basalt X You 1.2 Petrol MT

I have been driving the Citroen Basalt for almost two months now, mostly within the city. The first thing I noticed is the comfort level. The suspension is very soft and handles bad roads really well. Interior quality is decent and seats are comfortable for daily use. Mileage in city traffic is around 16–17 kmpl, which is acceptable for this segment. The engine feels smooth but not very sporty, so this car suits relaxed drivers. Maintenance cost till now seems reasonable, and service experience has been good. Exterior design looks different and modern, which many people have appreciated. Overall, the Basalt feels like a practical and comfort-focused car rather than a performance-oriented one.

The Citroen Basalt caught my attention mainly because of its coupe-style design. From outside, it looks premium and unique compared to other cars in this range. However, once you sit inside, the interior feels a bit basic. The dashboard design is simple and some plastic quality could have been better. Driving comfort is good and suspension absorbs bumps nicely. Mileage on highways touched around 19 kmpl, which is good. Features list is decent but misses some premium touches. Long drives are comfortable due to good seating and ride quality. It’s a good-looking car with comfort, but interior quality could be improved

I recently took the Citroen Basalt on a 600 km highway trip and the experience was very pleasant. The car remains stable at high speeds and ride quality is excellent. Seats provide good support and fatigue was minimal even after long hours. Mileage on highways was close to 20 kmpl. Engine performance is smooth, not very aggressive but enough for cruising. Interior space is decent for a small family. Boot space is also practical. Maintenance cost seems affordable so far. The only downside is the lack of some advanced features. Overall, it is a comfortable long-distance cruiser.
