2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Earns 3-Star Safety Rating from Euro NCAP

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift achieved a 3-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test evaluation. This rating is a step down from previous generations, where the 2nd gen Swift scored 5 stars and the 3rd gen scored 4 stars with a safety package. The new Swift, in its 4th generation, has incorporated six airbags and several electronic aids as standard features.

Euro NCAP’s recent tests on the new Swift revealed an overall 3-star rating. Detailed scores include 67% for adult occupant protection, 65% for child occupant protection, 76% for vulnerable road users, and 62% for safety assist features. The test model was a Left Hand Drive (LHD) variant classified under City and Supermini categories, equipped with front and side airbags, seat belt reminders, load limiters, pretensioners, rear ISOFIX child mounts, and ADAS features like Auto Emergency Braking (AEB), Speed Assistance, Lane Assist System, and Driver Fatigue Detection.

    • Child Safety Features: 6/13 points
    • CRS Installation Check: 2/12 points
  • Vulnerable Road Users (VRU):
    • Overall: 29.2/36 points
    • Pedestrian and Cyclist Impact Mitigation: 18.8/27 points
  • Safety Assist:
    • AEB Pedestrians: 5.7/9 points
    • AEB Cyclists: 7.8/8 points
    • AEB Motorcyclists: 3.3/6 points
    • Lane Support Motorcyclist: 2/3 points
    • Speed Assistance: 2.1/3 points
    • Occupant Status Monitoring: 0.3/3 points
