Brand Performance and Market Shifts

Triumph's 400 range saw a decline to 2,823 units, down 26.77%. This drop is mainly due to a recent reclassification, as Bajaj moved Triumph 400, Pulsar 400, and Dominar 400 into the sub-350cc category for lower GST benefits. The 350cc versions of these motorcycles now appear lower in the sales rankings.
Royal Enfield Himalayan sold 2,284 units, up 40.29%. Harley-Davidson X440, a new entrant, contributed 2,202 units. Triumph 350 added 2,165 units. Royal Enfield Guerrilla posted strong growth of 129.36% with 1,906 units.
KTM's 390 range declined to 1,002 units, down 40.92%, partly due to strategic repositioning. Bajaj Pulsar 350 recorded 953 units, and Dominar 350 added 394 units. Aprilia RS 457 showed strong momentum with 233 units, up 108.04%. Bajaj Dominar 400 dropped to 38 units, Pulsar 400 fell to 22 units, and Aprilia Tuono 457 declined to 34 units. Kawasaki's Ninja, Eliminator, and KLX range stood at 15 units, while Husqvarna 401 posted 13 units.
OEM Performance and Market Outlook
Royal Enfield sold 96,683 units in March 2026, commanding an 81.88% market share and growing 15.88% YoY. Bajaj Auto Group, including Pulsar, Dominar, Triumph, KTM, and Husqvarna, reported 7,410 units, up 16.04% YoY, with a 6.28% share. Honda nearly doubled its volumes to 6,888 units, up 94.96%, driven by strong CB350 and H’ness 350 sales. Classic Legends posted robust growth of 98.67% YoY. Harley-Davidson X440 added 2,202 units. Aprilia, Kawasaki, and others remain niche players with limited and declining volumes.
The segment is expected to see more competition as global brands plan to enter. The Royal Enfield-dominated landscape may evolve into a more competitive and diverse market in the coming years.
