With a focus on business expansion, sustainability, and the adoption of greener mobility options, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has revealed its plan for India. As part of its growth strategy in the Indian automobile market, Toyota will launch four SUVs this year.

The Japanese automaker will expand its production facility and capacity and strengthen its sales network for wider reach in the country. It plans to launch hybrid, plug-in hybrids, EVs, and flex fuel-powered models. However, the company is expected to launch four models: Fortuner Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Electric, 7-seater Hyryder, and Land Cruiser Prado.
Toyota Is Launching 4 SUVs This Year
Toyota Fortuner Hybrid
Toyota showcased the hybrid version of its Fortuner in South Africa last year, and now it's likely to make its way to the Indian market by the end of this year. While the company hasn't confirmed the launch date and key specifications, the SUV is said to be powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine coupled with a 48V mild hybrid system, producing 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The availability of an integrated starter generator (ISG) will further enhance the performance of the SUV.
Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV
The all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. It seems to be the repackaged version of the Maruti e-Vitara. The Urban Cruiser BEV is expected to debut with two battery pack options: a 49 kWh battery paired with a 144 bhp electric motor and a 61 kWh battery with a 174 bhp electric motor. This upcoming Toyota EV is likely to deliver a maximum range of over 500 km on a single charge.
Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater SUV
The three-row version of the Hyryder SUV is confirmed to launch by the end of this year. It will be launched after the 7-seater Maruti Grand Vitara SUV is revealed in the market. The Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater SUV is expected to feature 1.5-liter K15C mild hybrid and 1.5-liter TNGA strong hybrid powertrain options, producing 103 bhp with 137 Nm torque and 114 bhp, respectively. The SUV can also be equipped with ADAS and some extra safety features.
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
The new generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is also expected to hit the Indian roads by the last quarter of this year. In the global markets, the full-size SUV is available in a 2.8-liter diesel engine borrowed from the Toyota Fortuner, coupled with 48V mild hybrid technology. There is an 8-speed automatic gearbox to perform the transmission duties. It features an all-black interior with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a wireless charging pad, and AC vents for the second and third rows.
