Ather rolls out Voice On Ather feature for Gen 3 and new models
Ather Energy expands its smart features lineup with the Voice on Ather update, enabling seamless voice command functionality across Gen 3 and newer electric scooters.

Ather Energy has completed the rollout of its 'Voice on Ather' feature to all customers with Gen 3 and newer scooters. CEO Tarun Mehta confirmed the update through social media. The feature was first announced at Ather Community Day 2025 as part of the AtherStack 7 update.
Key Highlights
- Ather completes 'Voice on Ather' rollout for all Gen 3 and above scooters
- The feature supports navigation, settings, calls, notifications, and media controls via natural language
- Compatible with Ather Halo helmet and third-party Bluetooth headsets, including Sena and Cardo
- Available for 450X, 450 Apex, and Rizta Z models with Gen 3 hardware or newer
Voice on Ather: Feature Details
'Voice on Ather' enables riders to interact with their Ather scooter using natural language commands. The system uses a large language model (LLM) designed to understand Indian accents and dialects. This allows users to speak conversationally, not just with fixed keywords.
The feature currently supports four main functions: navigation, vehicle settings, calls and notifications, and media controls. Riders can ask questions such as "How far is the nearest charger?" or "What's the ETA to work?" They can also adjust settings with commands like "Change traction control to Rain" or "Increase screen brightness."
Device Compatibility and Usage

The system works with the Ather Halo smart helmet and any standard Bluetooth headset. This includes third-party devices such as Sena or Cardo intercoms. Riders can use these devices to access all voice functions without losing any features.
'Voice on Ather' is compatible with the 450X, 450 Apex, and Rizta Z models running on Gen 3 hardware or newer. The feature is not available on the 450S or Rizta S models. Customers have started receiving the update through over-the-air (OTA) delivery.
Future Developments Planned
Tarun Mehta stated that the next phase will enable two-way interaction. In the future, the scooter will proactively communicate with the rider, not just respond to commands. Planned updates include voice-based alerts for potholes, ParkSafe notifications, and tyre pressure warnings. These updates are part of the AtherStack 7 roadmap.
