Bajaj Auto is preparing to re-enter the adventure motorcycle segment with a new model based on the Dominar. Spy shots have revealed an uncamouflaged test unit of the Bajaj Dominar X ADV, which features a full fairing. This marks the company's return to the ADV category after discontinuing the Pulsar AS range due to low sales.
Key Highlights
- Bajaj Dominar X ADV test mule spotted with full fairing design
- The model is expected to use 40.6 PS engine with 33.2 Nm torque
- Front suspension likely features RSU forks for higher ground clearance
- Taller windshield and beak design for improved ADV capabilities
- Launch expected in 2026 to rival TVS Apache RTX 300 and Triumph Scrambler 400X
Design and Features

The new Bajaj Dominar X ADV displays a full fairing that extends down to the belly pan, a design not previously seen in Bajaj's adventure lineup. The test bike sports a white and black color scheme with neon green accents. The X moniker is visible on the fairing, highlighting its distinct identity within the Dominar series.
The front of the motorcycle features a prominent beak, a design element common in off-road motorcycles. A taller windshield is present, which should offer better wind protection compared to the current Dominar 400. The presence of knuckle guards is unconfirmed, but likely, given the ADV focus. The handlebars appear similar to those on the Dominar 400, which are already optimized for touring.
Chassis and Equipment
The Dominar X ADV shares several components with the Dominar 400, including the seats, fuel tank, alloy wheels, and disc brake setup. However, the new model lacks a pillion backrest and rear luggage rack. The front suspension appears to use RSU forks instead of the 43mm USD forks found on the Dominar 400. This suggests a possible increase in suspension travel and ground clearance, both important for adventure riding.
The instrumentation on the test bike is not clearly visible, but there is hope for a TFT touchscreen unit similar to the one used in the Chetak range. This would represent a significant upgrade in rider information and connectivity.
Engine and Performance
The Bajaj Dominar X ADV is expected to use the same engine as the Dominar 400. This engine produces around 40.6 PS of power and 33.2 Nm of torque. It will likely be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, a slipper clutch, and an electronic throttle.
Once launched, the Bajaj Dominar X ADV will compete with models like the TVS Apache RTX 300 and Triumph Scrambler 400X. The launch is anticipated in 2026, signaling Bajaj's renewed commitment to the adventure motorcycle segment.

Conclusion
With the Dominar X ADV now entering its road-testing phase, Bajaj appears ready to leverage the proven Dominar platform for serious adventure-touring duties in 2026. If the production model retains the robust engine, comfortable ergonomics and upgraded suspension expected from an ADV, it could become a compelling choice for riders seeking an accessible, value-packed long-distance machine in India.
