BMW has officially launched the all-new Jahre Edition of its iconic BMW 3 Series lineup in India. The brand has achieved yet another milestone, as its 3 Series lineup has completed its 50 years since its debut. In order to celebrate its 50 years in the making, BMW launched the new Jahre Edition special models under the portfolio.

The Jahre Edition is a tribute to the global success story of the 3 Series, a model that continues to be the heartbeat of BMW’s portfolio. In India, the company has launched the BMW 330 Li M Sport 50 Jahre Edition and the BMW M340i 50 Jahre Edition. The production of these two models in India will be limited to 50 units. Let us check out the special edition of the iconic BMW Series 3 lineup, making it stand apart as a collector’s edition in the Indian market.

A Legacy Reinvented

The BMW 3 Series has been one of the best-selling cars for decades globally. First debuted in 1975 as the new generation for the BMW 02 Series under the portfolio. The next-generation BMW 3 Series has undergone seven generations over the years. Each successive generation outperforms the previous one. Now, at the moment, the 3 Series is celebrating its 50th anniversary and has introduced itself in an all-new Jahre Edition avatar.

BMW has tried to craft a modern interpretation of legacy by combining cutting-edge engineering with heritage-inspired details in the newly launched Jahre Edition. Exclusive badging, distinct color palettes, and limited production numbers elevate it to the status of an automotive statement. The BMW 330i M Sport is priced at Rs 64 Lakh, and the M340i Jahre Edition comes at Rs 76.90 Lakh, both ex-showroom, India.

Craftsmanship in Design: What’s New in the BMW 330Li M Sport and BMW M340i?

The all-new Jahre Edition seamlessly integrates with curated interiors and demonstrates meticulous craftsmanship through exterior design language. The latest iteration of the BMW 330Li M Sport 50 Jahre Edition comes with subtle design changes, with a kidney-style front grille. From the side, the car offers window surrounds, a rear diffuser, and tailpipes. You might also witness a 1/50 badging on the B-pillar, stating it as a special variant unit. The car is available in 3 distinct metallic colors: Mineral White, Skyscraper Grey, and M Carbon Black.

On the other hand, the recently launched BMW M340i 50 Jahre Edition also gets a 1/50 badging on the B-pillar so as to signify the special production unit limited to 50 only. While looking at the car, you might witness the Jahre emblems or Jahre decals on the front and rear, and also on the hubcaps. Even the M badging is embraced on the fender and on the tailgate. This version offers 4 distinct metallic colors in India as an option: Dravit Grey, Black Sapphire, Fire Red Metallic, and Arctic Race Blue.

Features That Matter

The 330Li gets a carbon fibre interior trim with a head-up display and 3D augmented view. With premium upholstery, the 330Li M 50 Jahre edition offers floor mats in velour, a front armrest with storage compartments, and ambient lighting with welcome light carpet. The dashboard boasts a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch Digital Divers’ Display. The car also offers a Harman Kardon Surround System with voice control. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, multiple airbags, ABS, Cornering Brake Control, Traction Control, and many more.

While getting inside the 340i M Sport, the cabin seems to be engraved in Black Vernasca leather with M detailing. The drivers, along with passengers, get M-Sport seats, carbon fiber trim, and an anthracite headliner. The dashboard features the same ergonomic controls with the same infotainment setup as that of the 330Li. For safety features, the car carries all the important features, such as ABS, adaptive control, side impact protection, an electronic vehicle immobilizer, and a crash sensor. Both limited edition models include the same key features.

Performance That Excites

The BMW 330Li M Sport is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 258 HP of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. This engine is powerful enough to accelerate the 330Li from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.2 seconds.

In contrast, the BMW M340i comes with a 3.0L straight 6-cylinder petrol engine that produces 374 HP of power and 500 Nm of maximum torque. Badged with the M performance engine, the car can reach from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds.

CarBike360 Says

Exclusivity is the soul of the Jahre Edition. By launching this in India, BMW celebrates its heritage while engaging true enthusiasts who desire more than just a car. This car is suitable for those who want to fill their garage with a true collector's dream.
