Key Features and Pricing

The combined range of the Bao 8 reaches 1,380 km when using both its fuel tank and fully charged battery. The Bao 5 and Bao 8 Flash Charging Editions are available for immediate purchase in China, with some discounts for early buyers.
BYD’s Flash Charging technology enables 1000V DC charging with a 10C rating. This allows the battery to charge from a 10% to 70% state of charge in just 5 minutes. The battery can reach 97% charge in 9 minutes. BYD plans to install 20,000 dedicated 1000V Flash Chargers across China by the end of 2026.
Advanced Suspension and Off-Road Capabilities
Both the Fangchengbao Bao 5 and Bao 8 Flash Charging Editions feature the Disus P Ultra suspension system. This technology provides a 200 mm body height adjustment stroke and a lifting capacity of 9 tonnes, which is industry-leading. The system can operate in extreme temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.
The Disus P Ultra suspension allows for four-wheel lifting and extrication. It can lift one wheel in the air for up to 3 minutes, enabling tyre changes without a jack. This system also supports driving on three wheels. This feature can be useful during a tyre blowout or in challenging off-road conditions where a wheel may lose contact with the ground.
BYD’s Expansion and Technological Advancements
BYD has previously launched Flash Charging Editions in the Fangchengbao Tai series. With the Bao series now included, all four Fangchengbao vehicles offer flash charging. The company continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, focusing on fast charging and advanced off-road capabilities.
CarBike 360 Says
The BYD Fangchengbao Bao 8 marks another bold step in the brand’s push toward high-performance electric SUVs. With its three-motor setup, advanced off-road capabilities, and fast charging technology, it blends innovation with practicality. As competition heats up in China’s EV space, the Bao 8 positions itself as a compelling choice for buyers seeking power, range, and cutting-edge features.
