BYD India Announces Price Revision for The High-Performance SEALION 7 EV Starting Early 2026

BYD India has revealed a scheduled price increase for its acclaimed electric SUV, the BYD SEALION 7, that will take effect from January 1, 2026. Customers keen to book this premium electric SUV have an opportunity to do so at current ex-showroom prices until December 31, 2025. This move comes after the SEALION 7 achieved a significant milestone, crossing over 2,000 sales in India since its launch.

With its competitive pricing and state-of-the-art technology, the BYD SEALION 7 has rapidly gained traction among Indian EV buyers looking for a blend of design, performance, and luxury in the electric vehicle segment. The planned price revision reflects BYD's efforts to continue expanding its footprint in the Indian EV market while delivering sustained value to early buyers.

The Design

The BYD SEALION 7 embodies the brand’s "Ocean Aesthetics" design philosophy, featuring bold contours and aggressive silhouettes that exude dynamic power. Its front fascia is distinguished by sharp LED headlights with distinctive C-shaped daytime running lights and a sculpted bumper with prominent air intakes, amplifying its sporty appeal.

Premium details include flush electronic door handles, connected LED taillights with a unique pattern, and dual rear spoilers, providing both style and aerodynamic efficiency.

​BYD Sealion 7: Performance and Powertrain

The BYD Sealion 7 features an 82.56 kWh battery available in two variants: Performance and Premium. The Performance variant produces a substantial 390 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 100 kmph acceleration in a brisk 4.5 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Premium variant offers 230 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds. Both variants deliver impressive performance, with the Performance trim offering 542 km and the Premium version capable of 567 km on a full charge, based on NEDC testing.

One of the standout features of the SEALION 7 is the integration of BYD’s Blade Battery as a structural part of the chassis using CTB (Cell to Body) technology, which enhances cabin space, improves vehicle handling, and elevates safety levels.
