BYD to Increase Prices by 1-2 Percent Across Portfolio from July 1, 2026
BYD will implement a 1-2 percent price increase across its Indian portfolio from July 1, 2026, due to foreign exchange fluctuations. Customers booking in May or June 2026 can secure current prices if delivery occurs by July 1.

BYD, a global leader in electric vehicles, has announced a price increase of 1 to 2 percent for its entire Indian portfolio. The new prices will take effect from July 1, 2026. This adjustment will impact all four models currently available in India: Atto 3 SUV, eMax 7 MPV, Seal sedan, and Sealion 7 SUV.
Key Highlights
- BYD will increase prices by 1 to 2 percent on all models from July 1 2026
- Current prices apply for bookings made in May and June 2026 with delivery by July 1
- Price hike attributed to ongoing foreign exchange rate fluctuations
- BYD India operates 48 dealerships across 40 cities nationwide
- Expansion plans include Atto 2 and an India-specific model
Price Hike Details
BYD stated that the price hike will vary between 1 percent and 2 percent, depending on the specific model and variant. The company has not disclosed the exact increase for each vehicle. As of now, the starting prices for BYD vehicles in India are as follows: Atto 3 at Rs 24.99 lakh, eMax 7 at Rs 26.9 lakh, Seal at Rs 41 lakh, and Sealion 7 at Rs 49.4 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
Customers who book any BYD vehicle in May 2026 or June 2026 can still avail themselves of the current prices. However, these prices will only apply if the buyer takes delivery of the vehicle by July 1, 2026. After this date, the revised prices will be implemented across all dealerships.
Reasons for Price Revision
BYD India attributed the upcoming price hike to ongoing fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. The company emphasized that these changes are necessary to maintain its business operations in a challenging market environment. BYD India currently operates 48 dealerships across 40 cities, providing integrated sales and service support nationwide.
Earlier, BYD increased the price of its flagship Sealion 7 SUV from January 1, 2026, after reaching a sales milestone of 2,000 units. The company also introduced a new variant of the Sealion 7 and issued an update for the BYD Seal sedan in India.
Expansion and Future Plans
BYD is actively expanding its product lineup in India. The Atto 2 has been spotted testing several times and may be assembled locally using CKD kits, which would require homologation and certification. In addition, BYD has confirmed that it is developing a vehicle specifically for the Indian market.
Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles at BYD India, stated that the company remains committed to offering advanced and premium electric mobility solutions. He noted strong demand for models such as the Atto 3 and Sealion 7, reflecting growing consumer confidence in electric vehicles.
