Hero MotoCorp is making a transition to lead the new-generation two-wheeler market. As per the latest reports, the company has announced that they have appointed Mr. Harshavardhan Chitale as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with effect from January 5, 2025. Followed by the approval of the Board of Directors, this move marks a pivotal point for the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters.

The appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer will bring prosperity and new aid innovation to the brand, as he brings with him more than three decades of global leadership across both B2B and B2C sectors. Considering his past experiences, he has held a senior executive position in leading public listed and multinational corporations. Having worked in India, the United States, and Europe, his experiences offer a perspective for Hero MotoCorp in India as well as overseas.

Speaking about the latest business transition on the company’s board, Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman, Hero MotoCorp, said, “Harsh’s outstanding track record in driving growth, fostering innovation, and leading global transformation makes him the ideal leader for Hero MotoCorp at this pivotal moment.’

As the new CEO of India’s latest two-wheeler manufacturer’s member. Mr. Harshavardhan Chitale has many coveted achievements that boost his career. He previously served as the Global CEO of Signify’s €4 billion Professional Business, where he led a workforce of about 12,000 employees across 70 countries. During his tenure, he looked after the manufacturing, supply chain, product development, and other industrial initiatives.

Moreover, he was the vice chairman & managing director of Philips Lighting India. At Philips Lighting India, he was instrumental in orchestrating its spin-off into a standalone public company, solidifying market dominance with a share twice that of the nearest rival. Through this career, in whichever industries he has worked, his vision aims to be most precise and focus on substantial industrial growth.

Hero MotoCorp’s new Chief Executive Officer is widely respected for his strategic vision and engineering excellence. As an alumnus of IIT Delhi, Harsh was awarded the Director’s Gold Medal for the best student in his graduation class.
