Scooters emerged as the star performer, with the ICE segment posting a remarkable 45% quarterly rise, propelled by fresh launches including the Destini 110, Destini 125, Xoom 125, and Xoom 160.

These models, tailored for urban commuters and families, tapped into heightened post-festive demand, more than doubling December volumes from the prior year. Hero's emphasis on practicality, style, and efficiency positions it strongly against competitors like Honda and TVS in this high-growth category.

VIDA EV Leads Sales Forward

VIDA
VIDA V2

Hero's EV subsidiary, VIDA, accelerated impressively with 10,701 registrations in December, clinching an 11% market share in the burgeoning electric scooter space. The VX2 EVOOTER led the charge, supported by festive sales boosts and positive consumer shifts toward sustainable mobility.

One of the recent strategic moves was partnering as the title sponsor with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for three seasons and launching the innovative DIRT.E K3, a size-adaptive electric motorcycle for kids aged 4-10, which will go on sale starting January 15, 2026. This underscores VIDA's youth-focused expansion post its EICMA 2025 debut.

Global Business Hits New Heights

International dispatches climbed 21% in December to 37,236 units, with Q3 exports surging 41% through new market penetrations and lineup enhancements. Collaborations with Harley-Davidson amplified premium appeal, featuring the H-D X440 T launch and unveilings of top-tier CVO Street Glide and Road Glide models in India. This diversification mitigates domestic volatility while tapping export potential in Latin America, Africa, and beyond.

Industry Outlook

Hero MotoCorp capped December with consistent retail traction and optimistic registrations, entering Q4 FY26 with confidence. Executives attribute sustained growth to a balanced portfolio spanning entry-level bikes to premium EVs, amid economic recovery and government incentives for green vehicles.

As rivals grapple with supply chain hurdles, Hero's agile execution and innovation, hinting at more EV and performance-oriented reveals, promise leadership continuity. Industry watchers eye whether this trajectory will outpace sector averages, especially with rising fuel costs favoring scooters and EVs.

Conclusion

Hero MotoCorp's 40% December dispatch surge cements its throne in India's two-wheeler realm, blending ICE prowess, EV innovation via VIDA, and global reach. As festive echoes fuel Q4 momentum, expect bolder launches and market-share grabs amid green shifts.
