Hyundai Alcazar is set to be launched in April 2021. It is the seven-seat version of Hyundai Creta and hence, it is carrying a lot of expectations from the brand. The car has been taking test rounds for the past few months, it has been spotted sans camouflage in its full glory.
From the picture, Hyundai Alcazar's dimensions look quite bold and subtle and the changes to the chassis for adding two more seats look neat and well proportioned. The car now looks boxier than the donor vehicle.
At the front, Alcazar gets a fresh grille with prominent use of chrome. The bumper is new and has certain new cladding elements to make it look bolder.
On the sides, the extension in the vehicle’s size is visible and it looks neat. There is a new quarter glass beyond the C pillar and the sloping roof of the car is now more uniform.
There will be a new set of alloy wheels to suit the new proportions. We are expecting them to be 18 inches in size.
At the rear, this SUV now has a traditional light setup with a tailgate-mounted registration plate slot.
The new car will be available in 6 and 7 seat configurations. The 7 seat configuration will have a Creta-like bench seat with a 60:40 split function to access the 3rd row.
In the 6 seat configuration, the middle row will get two captain seats with individual armrests and a central passage to access the third row.
The India spec Creta 7 seater is expected to arrive with a similar to the donor vehicle powertrain setup. There will 2 petrol engines with 115PS/144Nm and 140PS/242Nm configurations paired to 6MT or CVT and DCT with paddle shifters respectively. The diesel engine will have a 115PS/250Nm configuration which is currently selling in big numbers.
Once launched, the Alcazar will compete with Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector Plus, and Toyota Innova Crysta. Expect its price to fall in the range of Rs. 13 lakhs to Rs. 20 lakhs.
