Hyundai Motor India has announced the expansion of its ultra-high-speed public EV charging network across key highways and six major cities in the country, marking a significant step towards achieving its EV goals.
Expansion Details
The expansion entails the setup of 11 ultra-fast charging stations in each location, with each station comprising three charging points comprising one unit each of DC 150 kW, DC 60 kW and DC 30 kW capacity. The cities covered include Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Bangalore, along with highway routes such as Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Surat, and Mumbai-Nashik.
Operational Convenience
These charging stations operate round the clock and are staffed by dedicated professionals to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, they are strategically located near customer amenities such as coffee shops and restaurants, enhancing the overall charging experience.
Enhanced Charging Experience:
The ultra-fast DC chargers enable a rapid charging capability, particularly beneficial for owners of the Hyundai IONIQ 5. Vehicles can charge from 10 to 80 percent within an impressive 21 minutes, facilitating seamless journeys for EV enthusiasts.
Integration with myHyundai App
Hyundai has integrated the locations of these EV charging stations into its myHyundai app, offering features such as charger discovery, navigation, pre-booking of charging slots, digital payments, and real-time charging status monitoring. This integration is accessible to both Hyundai and non-Hyundai EV users.
Moreover, one can book the charging session with Rs 18 per unit for a 30 kW Charger, Rs 21 per unit for a 60 kW charger and Rs 24 per unit for a 150 kW Charger.
Alignment with Government Vision
Jae Wan Ryu, Executive Director, Corporate Planning, Hyundai Motor India, emphasized alignment with the Indian government's vision for an inclusive electric vehicle ecosystem. He highlighted the significance of the expansion in supporting this vision.
Future Expansion Plans
Hyundai plans to expand ultra-fast charging stations to 10 or more new locations in 2024. Furthermore, the company aims to install 100 charging stations by 2027, as per the agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable mobility solutions,
