Hyundai Exter has launched today at the most affordable price and is packed with unlimited features.

Hyundai Exter has launched today priced at Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). The Exter is the cheapest SUV in the history of Hyundai Motor India and is at the bottom of the field. The small SUV will compete directly with cars such as the Tata Punch and Citroen C3, as well as SUVs larger than 4 meters, such as the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
Exter is based on the same platform as the Grand i10, NIOS and Aura. At the front is a headlight with H-shaped LED daytime running lights. The taillights also have an H-shaped design. The overall layout of this small SUV is box-shaped with modern design elements.
It has dimensions of 3,815mm in length, 1,710mm in width, and 1,631mm in height. It also has a 2,450mm wheelbase and an 185mm ground clearance.
Inside, the Exter borrows the cabinet setup from the Grand i10 NIOS, which includes a dual digital setup that includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display and an all-digital instrument cluster borrowed from the i20. In addition to dual digital displays, the
Exter will feature cruise control, solar power, automatic climate control, steering wheel-mounted controls, rear air conditioning vents, an instrument cluster and more. The Exter is the cheapest solar-powered SUV in India.
For safety, the Exter is equipped with electronic stability control, vehicle stability control, hill assist control, rear brake sensors, TPMS (high line), six airbags (standard) and more.
The Exter model from Hyundai is equipped with a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 83hp and 114Nm of peak torque. This engine is shared with other popular Hyundai models such as the Nios, i20, and Venue. Buyers have the option to choose between a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
In the CNG variant, the Exter generates 69hp and 95.2Nm of torque and is only available with a manual gearbox. The petrol variants, except for the base E trim, offer the choice between manual and AMT gearboxes. The CNG option is available on the mid-spec S and SX trims. Furthermore, the three SX trims come with paddle shifters when paired with the AMT gearbox.
According to Hyundai, the Exter achieves a fuel economy rating of 19.4kpl for the manual transmission and 19.2kpl for the AMT. However, the CNG variant provides significantly better fuel efficiency, boasting an impressive rating of 27.10kpl.
There are colour options such as Ranger Khaki, Cosmic Blue, Atlas White, Electric, and Starry Night. The first three also have a dual-tone option.
