JSW MG Motor India revises Windsor EV prices across all variants

JSW MG Motor India has updated the prices of the Windsor EV across all its variants. Standard variants now cost more, while some Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) options have become more affordable. These changes affect both the 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh battery pack models.

Standard Variant Price Increases

The base Excite variant, which comes only with the 38 kWh battery pack, sees the largest price hike. The price has increased by Rs 60,000, bringing the new ex-showroom cost to Rs 14.70 lakh. The Exclusive and Essence trims each receive a price increase of Rs. 46,900. After the revision, the Exclusive is now priced at Rs 16 lakh and the Essence at Rs 17 lakh.

For the larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, the Exclusive Pro variant's price rises by Rs 51,900. The top-end Essence Pro sees a price increase of Rs 39,900. These adjustments mean that all standard Windsor EV variants now have higher upfront costs.

BaaS Variant Price Changes

The Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program allows buyers to separate the battery cost from the vehicle's upfront price. Under this scheme, the Exclusive and Essence BaaS variants have become more affordable, with a price reduction of Rs 13,100 each. This makes the Windsor EV more accessible for buyers who prefer the BaaS option.

However, not all BaaS variants have seen price cuts. The Exclusive Pro BaaS variant now costs Rs 51,900 more, and the Essence Pro BaaS is up by Rs 39,900. These increases mirror the changes seen in the standard variants with larger battery packs.

Battery Options and Range

The MG Windsor EV offers two battery pack options. The 38 kWh battery pack claims a range of 332 km on a full charge. The larger 52.9 kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 449 km. These specifications remain unchanged despite the price revisions.

The Windsor EV continues to compete in the electric vehicle segment with these updated prices and specifications. Buyers can now choose between higher upfront costs or the BaaS program, depending on their preferences.
