Kia has announced a price increase for several models in its lineup, effective immediately. The company has raised prices for the Syros, Sonet, and Clavis EV. This update also affects the Carens, Kia’s multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), which is the focus of this report.

Key Highlights

  • Kia increases Carens prices by Rs 2000 across all variants
  • Carens now priced between Rs 1102 lakh and Rs 1288 lakh ex-showroom
  • Carens Premium O variant available in petrol, diesel, and CNG versions

Carens Price Hike Details

The Kia Carens, which precedes the Carens Clavis, is now available only in the Premium (O) variant. Buyers can choose from three versions of this variant: 1.5 Petrol MT 7S, 1.5 Diesel MT 7S, and 1.5 Petrol CNG 7S. All three versions have received a uniform price increase of Rs. 2,000.

Following this revision, the Carens is now priced between Rs. 11.02 lakh and Rs. 12.88 lakh, ex-showroom. This adjustment applies to all units sold from the date of the announcement.

Market Position and Strategy

The Carens Clavis is Kia’s latest and most feature-rich MPV in the mainstream segment. Despite the introduction of the Carens Clavis, Kia has kept the Carens model in its portfolio. Industry sources suggest that Kia aims to target commercial buyers with the continued availability of the Carens.

The Carens Premium (O) variant offers seating for seven and is available with petrol, diesel, and CNG engine options. The price increase affects all three fuel types equally.

Other Models Affected

In addition to the Carens, Kia has raised prices for the Syros, Sonet, and Clavis EV. The company has not disclosed the specific price changes for these models in this announcement. The price adjustments reflect Kia’s response to market conditions and input costs.

Summary of Changes

Kia’s latest price revision impacts the Carens MPV, with all variants seeing a Rs. 2,000 increase. The Carens now starts at Rs. 11.02 lakh and goes up to Rs. 12.88 lakh, ex-showroom. The model remains available alongside the newer Carens Clavis, likely to serve commercial customers.

CarBike 360 Says

With this latest price revision, the Kia Carens continues to position itself as a feature-rich MPV in a competitive segment, despite becoming slightly more expensive. Buyers may feel the pinch, but the overall value proposition remains strong thanks to its practicality, modern features, and multiple powertrain options, ensuring it stays relevant among family car buyers in India.
