The model, launched in India in January, is currently available with petrol and diesel engines. A hybrid version is expected to launch next year. Kia Seltos Sales and Buyer Trends
Kia has reported that buyers in their 20s and 30s now make up 30.5% of Seltos customers in Korea. This is an increase from 27.8% for the previous generation. The gender split among buyers is now nearly equal at 51% male and 49% female. In comparison, overall car registrations in Seoul show only 18.1% of buyers in this age group, with a 73:27 male-to-female ratio. This data indicates that the Seltos is attracting a younger and more diverse customer base than the market average.
Higher trim levels are also in demand. The Signature trim accounted for 45.5% of Seltos deliveries last month, while the X-Line trim made up 21.9%. This trend shows buyers are prioritizing features and design over just price.
New Features and Hybrid Adoption

The new Kia Seltos has introduced the Vibro Sound Seat system in the Seltos for the Korean market. This technology converts sound frequencies into physical vibrations using actuators in the seats. There are four vibrators in the lower backrest and seat cushion for both the driver and passenger. The system synchronizes vibrations with media playback, and users can select from five intensity levels. This feature aims to enhance the in-cabin entertainment experience, especially for bass-heavy audio.
Hybrid variants now represent 38.6% of Seltos sales in Korea, reflecting increased interest in electrified vehicles. The Seltos hybrid uses Kia’s Hybrid Layered Predictive Control (HPC) system. HPC leverages navigation and radar data to predict driving conditions and optimize battery usage, improving fuel efficiency in mixed driving scenarios.
Currently, the Vibro Sound Seat and HPC features are not available in the Indian version of the Seltos. These features may be introduced later, likely with the hybrid variant.
Seltos Performance in India
The Kia Seltos continues to perform well in India, with monthly sales consistently exceeding 10,000 units since its launch. The model has also achieved top scores in crash testing under Bharat NCAP standards, highlighting its safety credentials.
