Positioned as the world’s No. 1 premium motorcycle brand’s most accessible Duke, the KTM 160 Duke already enjoys strong traction among young riders for its performance-to-rupee equation and agile street manners. With this update, KTM aligns its smallest Duke with its larger siblings by offering a premium TFT interface and richer connectivity, further elevating daily usability, rider engagement, and perceived premiumness without altering the proven mechanical package underneath.

The highlight of the new variant is the 5-inch color TFT display derived from the Gen-3 KTM 390 Duke, featuring bonded glass for enhanced durability and clarity. Paired with a new switch cube featuring 4-way menu switches, the interface gives riders quick, intuitive access to vehicle information, ride functions, and smartphone features directly from the handlebar.

Beyond basic readouts, the TFT cluster has been positioned as the central hub between rider and motorcycle, with a clear, customizable layout of menus, infographics, and shortcuts. Riders can tailor what is displayed, prioritizing the data and features they use most frequently, which makes the 160 Duke feel more like a higher-segment machine in everyday use.

Navigation And Bluetooth Connectivity

Connectivity is enabled through KTM My Ride and the KTM Connect app, allowing riders to pair their smartphones via Bluetooth and access turn-by-turn navigation directly on the TFT screen. The navigation suite has been designed as a practical companion, offering route guidance alongside relevant KTM motorcycle data and travel-related information.

The KTM 160 Duke is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC 156 cc engine, churning out 17.2 HP of power and 14.5 Nm of peak torque. This high-revving unit, featuring Bosch electronic fuel injection and a 6-speed gearbox, punches well above its displacement thanks to KTM's sharp power-to-weight ratio of around 13.3 HP of power per 100 kg.

Features: Supermoto ABS and Customization

KTM continues to offer Supermoto ABS mode on the 160 Duke, switchable through the TFT interface, which disengages ABS at the rear wheel for controlled slides and specific Supermoto-style riding scenarios. This feature underscores the bike’s READY TO RACE DNA, giving enthusiasts a more playful, track-inspired experience when conditions and rider skill allow.

Market Outlook

KTM describes the 160 Duke as hugely popular with younger riders for its strong power-to-weight ratio and engaging street performance, a reputation this tech upgrade aims to amplify. According to Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, the new TFT display makes the 160 Duke even more intuitive and engaging to ride, reinforcing KTM’s commitment to combining sharp performance with advanced rider technology in an accessible package.

Conclusion

Backed by KTM’s READY TO RACE ethos and Bajaj Auto’s extensive manufacturing and retail footprint in India, the new TFT variant is expected to strengthen the 160 Duke’s appeal in a segment increasingly driven by technology and connectivity. With nearly half a million KTM customers in India and over 450 touchpoints, the brand is well-positioned to translate this feature-led upgrade into a stronger urban market pull.
