In a proactive move, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a voluntary recall for 269 units of its luxury SUV, the Land Cruiser 300. The recall is prompted by a potential issue with the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software of the automatic transmission system.

The affected Land Cruiser 300 SUVs were manufactured between 12 February 2021, and 1 February 2023. Toyota has identified a need to reprogram the ECU software to ensure the smooth functioning of the automatic transmission. Fortunately, there have been no reported incidents or safety concerns related to the glitch.

Owners of the recalled vehicles are assured that the necessary software update will be provided free of cost. While the recall is in effect, Toyota has stated that customers can continue to use their SUVs without any immediate safety risk. This powerplant is paired with a sophisticated ten-speed automatic transmission.
