Nissan Motor, which was on the verge of collapse in the Indian market, has now made a comeback with its all-new SUV, the Magnite. Nissan Magnite has over 30,000 confirmed bookings across the country. The SUV has managed to change the brand's fate in the country, despite the pandemic situation. This is a huge change for a brand that could sell only 5,448 cars in the first eight months of the current fiscal. According to sources, the final number of bookings could be higher than 30,000. One of the reasons for the increasing popularity of the car is that the customers are seeing it as value for money, as the car offers benefits and features of its rivals at a lesser cost. The cost of Magnite is INR 4.99 lakh, which is far less than Hyundai Venue’s INR 6.75 lakh and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza’s INR 7.34 lakh ( in Delhi).
One of the key features of the car is its 360-degree camera, which is usually present only in the C-segment vehicles. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is usually not available at this price range. The car was in great demand on the last day of the introductory price offer of INR 4.99 Lakh. Magnite is estimated to be the most booked vehicle of 2020. The increased number of bookings could also lead to the car being sold out for 2021. If this happens, Nissan India will have to increase the production at its Chennai plant. To meet the demand, the company has resumed the production in 2021 and is focusing to beat its rival, Renault Kiger.
This has been a significant achievement for the brand which had to face multiple launch failures right from Datsun RediGo as well as Kicks. Magnite will start getting delivered from this month itself. The dispatches have been started from its Chennai plant. The car could reshape the future of the brand by grabbing the attention of local customers. Like the Sunny, Magnite has made a prominent appearance in the market and will decide the way the company moves ahead in the country. The success of this car will definitely make other brands re-consider the price-range of their products. The car has changed the way Indian customers measure the price range of cars, especially in the SUV segment. Magnite has made many other cars look overpriced. The future cars would need corrections in their price because of the benchmark that the car has set.
