Nagaland Police has inducted the Mahindra Thar Roxx SUV as its latest patrol fleet vehicle. The 5-door Thar Roxx was launched in India in 2024, and since its launch, the SUV has seen consistent demand from individual and institutional customers. The Mahindra SUV is known for both on-road and off-road capabilities.

The latest addition to the patrol fleet vehicles of Indian police includes Thar Roxx, joining models like Toyota Innova, Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Thar, Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Safari Storme, and Force Gurkha.
As part of configuring Mahindra Thar Roxx as a more police vehicle, India's only SUV brand offered two parallel blue stripes. The word 'POLICE' is displayed in between these strips.
The front and rear windshields' upper part gets POLICE wording to make it more recognizable as a police vehicle. There are standard strobe lights on the roof, normally found in police vehicles.
At the front, Roxx also gets Fender guides and some other modifications. A few accessories, like rain visors on all side doors, have been added to the police version of the Thar Roxx SUV.
The current ex-showroom price of the Mahindra Thar Roxx starts from Rs 12.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 23.09 lakh. The 5-door SUV is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The model has a 2.0-liter TGDi petrol engine with a 2WD system or a 2.2-liter diesel engine with RWD or a 4x4 option.
There are both manual and automatic transmission options available. The Roxx is reliable, powerful, and one of the market's low-maintenance off-road-ready SUVs. Despite its off-road capabilities, its modern design and comfortable features make it ideal for driving on the city's roads. The SUV has various features, like a panoramic sunroof, a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, and a Level 2 ADAS Suite.
In the Bharat NCAP crash test, Mahindra Thar Roxx scored 31.09 out of 32 for adult occupant safety and 45 out of 49 points for child safety, making it a 5-star rated SUV by BNCAP.
