Mahindra has expanded its XUV 3XO line up with the introduction of a new base variant, the MX1, priced at ₹7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The addition of this new base variant brings the total number of variants for the compact SUV to nine, ranging from MX1 to AX7 Luxury. The MX1's arrival significantly lowers the entry price for the XUV 3XO, which previously started at ₹9.99 lakh for the MX2 Pro Petrol variant. Dealerships across India have begun receiving the new base variant, making it available to customers.
The MX1 variant is equipped with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine featuring multi-point fuel injection. This power plant generates 109 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.
The base variant, the MX1 comes with several essential features:
• Six airbags
• ISOFIX child seat mounts
• Hill assist
• Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
• LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and taillights
• Halogen projector headlamps
• Rear seat center armrest
• Accessory power outlets
• Electronically adjustable seats
The XUV 3XO, launched in April 2024 as a successor to the XUV 300, has quickly gained traction in the compact SUV segment. In its first week of deliveries, Mahindra reported sales of 10,000 units, outperforming competitors like the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue in its inaugural month.
Higher-end variants of the XUV 3XO offer additional features, with the top-spec AX7L TGDI Petrol boasting a more powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged engine producing 129 bhp and 230 Nm of torque. These premium variants also include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and internet connectivity features such as Google/Alexa integration and an SOS button.
