Mahindra offers the XUV 7XO with two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. Both engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission.

Engine and Transmission Details
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 200 HP and 380 Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre diesel engine delivers 281 HP and 420 Nm of torque, with the automatic transmission variant increasing torque to 450 Nm. Mahindra has not officially disclosed the fuel efficiency figures for this updated three-row SUV. All-wheel drive (AWD) variants are also available for buyers seeking enhanced traction.
Real-World Mileage Results
During standardized fuel efficiency tests, the XUV 7XO diesel automatic achieved 9.64 km/L in city driving conditions. This result is lower than the Multi-Information Display (MID)-indicated figure of 10.8 km/L. On the highway, the model returned a fuel efficiency of 18.9 km/L, which is higher than the MID-indicated figure of 16.5 km/L.
Testing Methodology
The fuel efficiency tests followed a consistent procedure. The default settings were used for air conditioning and seat ventilation. The Zap drive mode was selected, and the auto start-stop feature remained active throughout the test. The air conditioning temperature was set at 22 degrees Celsius, with the blower speed at level 4. Seat ventilation was maintained at level 3. Other functions, such as the infotainment system, operated as they would during normal driving.
