The Volkswagen Taigun facelift will debut in India on April 9, 2026. The Taigun, first launched in 2021, shares its MQB-A0-IN platform with the Skoda Kushaq. The facelift will introduce a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox paired with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Other powertrain options will remain unchanged.

Recent sightings of a left-hand-drive test vehicle suggest the facelift will feature connected LED headlights, illuminated Volkswagen logos, and sleeker LED taillights. The interior is expected to receive a larger 10.25-inch driver’s display and a panoramic sunroof. It is not yet confirmed if the segment-only rear massaging seats from the Kushaq will be included.

The Majestor will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Tayron. It will be available in two trims, Sharp and Savvy, with the fully loaded Savvy trim offering six or seven seats. The Majestor uses a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215 HP and 478 Nm of peak torque, with both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options.

The SUV features a boxy design, a large grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and connected LED taillights. The interior includes soft-touch materials, dual 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and an ADAS suite.

The car has a low drag coefficient of 0.21 Cd, AMG Line styling, star-shaped LED lights, 18-inch rims, and connected LED taillights.
