Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has again made headlines. The company has announced that the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV has swiftly surpassed 1 lakh sales in exports. The Fronx has now set a new industry record in the passenger vehicle segment and is revolutionizing the Indian SUV market.

The Fronx design combines a rugged styling with a high ground clearance. Inside the cabin, you may get premium loaded features and multiple powertrain options. The car was first debuted in April 2023 and was exported to different automotive markets across the globe. However, for Fronx, this milestone as the individual model is surprising.

Unpredictable Sales Figures

Maruti Suzuki Fronx’s success is not limited to domestic borders. The brand also exported the Maruti Suzuki Fronx to international markets, including Japan, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. After the car was launched in April 2023, the car was already exported to over 80 countries in Africa and the Middle East. By 2024-25, the Japanese carmaker had exported over 69,000 Fronx units, making it the most exported passenger vehicle during that period.

700 bookings were registered soon after launch announcements in Japan, with deliveries scheduled from October 2024. Along with the Fronx, other Maruti Suzuki models were also listed as the best-performing export vehicles for the brand, such as the Jimny, Baleno, and Swift. While Fronx was exported to other international regions, the brand also received its highest-ever annual export volume of over 3.3 lakh units in that period.

From the vision of Marketing Experts

According to Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, the Fronx has more than doubled the company’s SUV market share from 10.4% in 2022 to 19.7% in 2023. This remarkable growth highlights how the Fronx has connected with consumers looking for a compact yet commanding SUV experience that blends style, technology, and driving excitement.

Powertrain Precision

Under the hood, the Fronx offers multiple powertrains. The standard powertrain was the 1.0L Boosterjet Turbo petrol engine that produces 99 PS of power and 147.6 Nm of torque. Another engine was a 1.2L naturally aspirated engine that generates 76 PS of power with 96.5 Nm of torque. This car was also released as a CNG variant. The latest power unit was the 1.2L Dual-jet VVT petrol engine that revs up to 88.5 PS along with 113 Nm of maximum torque. For the Indian customers, Fronx comes with two transmission systems, a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic transmission.
