MG Motor is poised to expand its electric vehicle lineup in India with the introduction of the Cloud Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV). Recently showcased at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), the Cloud CUV is expected to launch in India by early 2025. This compact electric vehicle, measuring around 4.3m in length, 1.85m in width, and 1.65m in height, aims to cater to buyers seeking a tech-savvy, design-forward EV. With a long 2.7m wheelbase, the Cloud CUV promises ample interior space and is part of MG's strategy to launch multiple vehicles in the Indian market.

The Cloud CUV's exterior features include:
- All-LED lighting
- All-four disc brakes
- Electric tailgate
- Flush door handles
- 18-inch Ferris-shaped alloy wheels
Inside, the Cloud CUV offers a premium experience with soft-touch materials, rose-gold accents, and quilted-design upholstery. The cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch infotainment screen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster.
Other notable features include:
- Electrically adjustable front seats
- 256-color ambient lighting
- Rear AC vents
- Auto climate control
- Storage box in center console
- 2-spoke steering wheel
- Built-in air filter
- Push-button start
- Wireless charger
- 6-speaker audio system
The electric powertrain consists of a 50.6 kWh battery pack and a single electric motor producing 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. This front-wheel-drive setup is expected to offer a balance of performance and efficiency suitable for urban driving.

Safety and driver assistance features are a priority in the Cloud CUV, including:
- Four airbags
- Electric parking brake
- Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
- Extensive ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control
- 360-degree camera
The vehicle's practicality is complemented by its expandable boot space, which can reach up to 1,707L with the second-row seats folded.
While official pricing has not been announced, industry experts anticipate that the MG Cloud CUV will be positioned slightly above the MG ZS EV in the company's line up. This pricing strategy reflects the vehicle's advanced features and unique market positioning as a compact electric crossover.
