Nissan Magnite has always been a feature loaded yet affordable offering in the sub 4 meter compact SUV segment. Still, compared to other rivals like the newly facelifted Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, etc in the compact SUV segment, the Magnite lacks some good to have and in-demand features.
Therefore, Nissan is all set to give Magnite a major update in the coming few months by bringing the first facelift of the compact SUV since its launch in December 2020.
Recently, a camouflaged test mule of the upcoming Magnite facelift was spotted while being tested on Indian roads. The credit for the spy images goes to auto enthusiast Pallavi Nitheesh. Looking at these latest spy images, one can confirm that the exterior of the Magnite will not receive any major design overhaul and will just get some minor updates.
Although, the sheet metal of the test mule looks similar to the ongoing model, the tail lamp assembly, the front & rear bumpers and the alloy wheels of the test mule look different from the on-sale Nissan Magnite.
On the features front, the new facelifted Nissan Magnite is likely to get a number of new features including a single pane sunroof, ventilated front seats, a larger size touchscreen infotainment (Probably 10 inch), new fully digital instrument cluster, etc. Moreover, this time, we expect Nissan to equip the Magnite with a better quality 360 degree view system combined with higher resolution camera's.
Although the Magnite is already a Global NCAP 4 star rated vehicle, we expect Nissan to take the safety game one step ahead by offering 6 airbags, ESP and traction control as standard fitment across the variant lineup.
On the powertrain front, we expect Nissan to continue with the same engine and gearbox combination as that of the current model. This means a 1 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 5 speed manual or a 5 speed AMT gearbox and a 1 litre turbo petrol engine with a 5 speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox.
CarBike360 Says
With this facelift, the Nissan Magnite is likely to re-establish itself as the most affordable yet feature loaded model in the sub 4 meter compact SUV segment. And thus, if you are planning to buy a vehicle in this particular segment, we would suggest you to wait for the new Nissan Magnite facelift.
