Upcoming Launches and Market Strategy
Renault’s strategy includes launching the Duster first, followed by the production version of the Bridger Concept. The Bridger Concept was unveiled recently and is scheduled for production in 2027. Renault will design, develop, test, and manufacture this model in India, with plans to export to Africa, Latin America, and GCC markets. India will remain the primary market for the Bridger.
Mahindra, on the other hand, revealed four new concept vehicles at the Freedom NU event in Mumbai on August 15, 2025. All four concepts will use the NU IQ platform. The Vision S, one of these concepts, began testing before its official unveiling and is expected to launch in 2026. Vision S has been seen testing multiple times across India.
Design Comparison: Bridger vs Vision S
Both the Renault Bridger and Mahindra Vision S are sub-4m SUVs with boxy, rugged designs. Each features a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and aims for a lifestyle SUV image. Unlike the Maruti Jimny and Mahindra Thar, both models use a monocoque platform instead of a ladder-frame construction.
Mahindra’s Vision S Concept was shown with off-road accessories, including jerrycans, ladders, and flood lights. However, test mules of the production version display a more restrained design with circular headlights. Both vehicles have strong, flat fascias, sculpted bonnets, large alloy wheels, chunky wheel arch claddings, flared fenders, and angular creases. They also feature a pronounced window line, roof rails, and LED lighting.
The Bridger Concept stands out with a sophisticated LED lighting signature, a gloss black grille, and illuminated Renault lettering. Both vehicles have generous glass areas and boxy shapes, which should maximize interior space. Renault claims the Bridger will offer around 400 liters of cargo volume. Both models feature side-hinged tailgates and distinctive LED taillight designs.
The Bridger Concept’s interior has not yet been revealed. In contrast, the Vision S’s interior has been showcased and observed during testing.
