Royal Enfield, the iconic Indian motorcycle manufacturer, has taken the wraps off its latest creation: the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. Revealed at the Motoverse 2023 event in Goa, this bobber-styled motorcycle promises a unique blend of style, power, and exclusivity.
Here are the key details about the Shotgun 650:
Limited Edition
In its initial phase, only 25 units of the Shotgun 650 have been made available. These special hand-painted iterations will be sold through a lucky draw exclusively to attendees of the Motoverse event. Lucky winners will get their hands on a truly distinctive motorcycle.
Distinctive Design
The Shotgun 650 boasts quintessential bobber styling. Its long profile, low-slung stance, and attention-grabbing features make it stand out. Notable design elements include:
A naked round headlamp with an offset console on top.
Bar-end mirrors for a retro touch.
A single seat for an intimate riding experience.
A chunky and chopped rear fender that adds to its rugged appeal.
An all-black theme for the hardware package.
Funky blue and black paint scheme with edgy graphics.
Features
The Shotgun 650 doesn’t compromise on features. It comes equipped with:
A full-LED lighting system for enhanced visibility.
A semi-digital console featuring the Tripper navigation module.
Alloy wheels and chunky tires for stability.
Upside-down front forks for precise handling.
Powertrain
Under the skin, the Shotgun 650 houses the same 648cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine found in other 650cc Royal Enfield models. This robust powerplant churns out 47bhp and 52.3Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. While the engine’s tuning remains similar to its siblings, riders can expect a thrilling experience on the road.
Pricing and Availability
The Shotgun 650 occupies a unique niche, as there’s currently no other bobber-styled offering in this class in India. As for pricing, it is expected to be around Rs. 10,000-20,000 cheaper than the Super Meteor 650, which starts from Rs. 3.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). More details regarding availability and deliveries will be announced in the coming weeks. It will be available in four colours: Green Drill, Stencil White, Plasma Blue, and Sheetmetal Grey.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 represents a bold move by the brand, catering to riders who seek both style and substance. With its limited availability and distinctive design, it’s poised to become a collector’s item for motorcycle enthusiasts.
