Kia is bringing the second‑generation Seltos to Europe for the first time in 2026, targeting the compact‑SUV segment dominated by the Volkswagen T‑Roc and Toyota C‑HR.

Kia will introduce the second-generation Seltos in Europe, expanding its presence in the compact SUV segment. This move positions the Seltos against established competitors like the Volkswagen T-Roc and Toyota C-HR. Previously, Kia did not offer the Seltos in Europe, focusing instead on models such as the Sportage and Sorento.
Key Highlights
- Kia Seltos second generation to launch in Europe for the first time
- The European Seltos will feature a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid with up to 176 HP.
- UK launch scheduled for Q4 2026 with phased rollout across Europe

Global Expansion and Market Performance

The Kia Seltos has played a crucial role in Kia’s global growth. The first-generation Seltos debuted in 2019, initially targeting markets like India, the United States, and South Korea. It quickly became popular due to its design, features, and value, emerging as one of Kia’s best-selling SUVs worldwide. Over time, the Seltos expanded to markets including Australia, strengthening its position as a key model for the brand.
The second-generation Seltos made its global debut earlier this year. India and South Korea were the first markets to receive the new model, with sales beginning in January 2026. In South Korea, the new Seltos has gained strong traction, supported by both petrol and hybrid powertrains. In India, the Seltos remains a top seller, consistently achieving over 10,000 units in monthly sales. The India-spec model currently offers petrol and diesel engines, with a hybrid variant expected later in 2026.
European Specifications and Features

The new Seltos measures about 4.43 metres in length and has a 2,690 mm wheelbase, placing it in the C-SUV segment. Its design draws inspiration from Kia’s latest electric vehicles, such as the EV3 and EV6, giving it a sharper and more modern appearance.
Kia will focus on electrification for the European market. The Seltos will be available with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol-based hybrid system. Customers can choose between front-wheel drive and e-AWD configurations. The front-wheel drive variant produces around 152 HP, while the AWD version delivers about 176 HP. Both variants use a dual-clutch transmission. Some markets may also receive a non-hybrid petrol option, but plug-in hybrid versions are not planned.
Inside, the new Seltos features dual 12.3-inch displays and a separate climate control screen. It also offers connected technology and advanced driver assistance systems. The European launch will roll out in phases, with the UK release scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
