The Tata Harrier EV has made headlines by winning the iconic Desert Quest rally, showcasing its powerful electric drivetrain, advanced off-road tech, and exceptional endurance.

Tata Harrier EV Redefines Indian Electric Mobility with Historic Victory at Desert Quest Rally

Tata Motors has once again made headlines in the automotive world. The brand’s most sophisticated off-roader, Harrier, has achieved an unprecedented feat in its electric form. Tata Harrier EV has won its maiden victory at the iconic Desert Quest Rally. This remarkable achievement is not only roaring in India but also across the globe.

For the first time, not only in India but also across Asia, an Indian electric vehicle has competed in the Desert Rally Quest and also won in its debut session. This victory reflects Harrier EV’s strong off-roading capabilities and cutting-edge technology with refined power and performance.

What’s the Desert Quest Rally?

The Desert Quest Rally is known for its exciting off-road and terrain events. In this event, various brands participate with their most powerful SUVs under the portfolio. The vehicle is being tested in punishing desert terrain and extreme conditions, a coveted proving ground for SUVs designed to withstand the harshest terrains or landscapes.

This was the first time that any Indian brand participated and won in its debut session. The Harrier EV win truly signifies the growing reputation of the brand. Tata Motors' electric vehicle segment, formerly known as Tata EV, proves to be the best off-roader with eco-friendly mandates.

Tata Harrier EV: Pioneer of Electric Endurance and Performance

The Tata Harrier EV demonstrates that, in addition to its diesel powertrain, the vehicle can usher in a new era of electric power, too. The Harrier EV is powered by a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery and is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system. This power configuration setup helps the vehicle produce 313 HP and 504 Nm of maximum torque.

With all this, the vehicle is engineered to take on the impossible. With instant torque, the SUV can easily dominate the rally's terrain, which poses several challenges. The vehicle can rule any terrain with its 6 terrain response modes: Normal, Rock Crawl, Mud Ruts, Snow & Grass, Sand, and Custom. The SUV can also accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds.

Powerful Features

To beat the ultimate quest, the Harrier EV comes with many ultimate features:
  • Off-Road Assist
  • Ultra Glide Suspension
  • Multi-Mode Regen
  • 14.5-inch Neo Quad Touchscreen
  • 540 Surround View
  • HD Rearview Mirror with DVR
  • Blind Spot Monitor
  • 628L Modular Boot Space
  • Level 2 ADAS
  • ESP with i-VBAC
  • 6-airbags

What does this victory signify, and how does it impact the Indian auto industry?

This victory signifies the reliability, off-roading capabilities, and refined performance under the nameplate of Tata Motors and Tata EV as well. It not only reinforces Tata Harrier's credentials as the leader in the Indian EV market, but it also puts intense competition on rivals like the MG Motor EV lineup. The Harrier EV’s success at Desert Quest embodies Tata’s forward-looking vision to combine performance, sustainability, and pioneering spirit.
