Tata Motors is already basking in the limelight in the automotive world. Recently, the brand has announced that its electric passenger mobility has achieved a milestone by selling 250,000 units in 2025, and the Nexon EV became India’s first EV to surpass 1 lakh sales units. Now, to move beyond the sales milestones, Tata Motors is gearing up to bring the much-awaited electric vehicle by the end of 2026.
Tata Motors has officially confirmed the launch of its premium Avinya EV by the end of the 2026 season. This bold decision will now make Tata Motors the first brand to enter the premium EV segment in India, followed by the Sierra EV and the Punch EV facelift variant. The announcement underscores Tata's aggressive push amid intensifying competition from rivals like Mahindra and Hyundai. Let’s take a closer look at what possible features the Tata Avinya EV might offer as a premium electric mobility vehicle.
Premium Aerodynamic-Rich Design

The premium prototype model of the Tata Avinya EV was first previewed at the Bharat Mobility Show in 2025. Seeing the car at first glimpse, the style and design seem to have a rich aerodynamic stance. We can expect an all-new continuous LED headlight strip with integrated DRLs similar to those used in the all-new Tata Sierra.
At the rear, the design and proportions might look similar to the Tata Curvv EV, but to make it premium, the brand might make the body contours more streamlined from the back. Inside, a flat-floor cabin creates a spacious, lounge-like ambience using sustainable materials for an eco-premium feel. Digital interfaces dominate, minimizing physical buttons for an intuitive user experience. The design philosophy emphasizes comfort, with ample legroom and ambient lighting.
Tata Avinya EV: Built On New Gen 3 EV Architecture

The upcoming premium electric SUV Avinya will be based on the all-new Tata Gen 3 EV architecture. This new electric architecture is made specially for the upcoming electric models featuring a skateboard-style platform.
