The 2024 Tata Nexon impresses with a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, showcasing Tata Motors dedication to excellence and innovation in vehicle safety standards.
Tata Motors, a leading name in the automotive industry, proudly announces that its latest offering, the 2024 Tata Nexon (ICE), has achieved an impressive 5-star safety rating from the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). The accomplishment solidifies Tata Motors’ dedication to ensuring the highest standards of safety in its vehicles.
The 2024 Tata Nexon has once again proven its resolve in adult occupant protection, securing a remarkable score of 32.22 out of 34.00 points in the Global NCAP crash test. This outstanding performance is a testament to the robust safety features and structural integrity of the SUV.
In the frontal impact evaluation, both the driver and passenger experienced commendable protection, with good head and neck safety. The chest received adequate shielding, and the knees and tibias of occupants were well-protected, contributing to the overall stellar score.
The side impact assessment highlighted excellent protection for the head, abdomen, and pelvis, with adequate shielding for the chest. The side pole impact test showcased the efficacy of standard curtain airbags, providing good protection to the head and pelvis, marginal protection to the chest, and adequate protection to the abdomen.
Equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and standard Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) systems in all seating positions, the Tata Nexon met the latest requirements from Global NCAP, ensuring acceptable performance in the test.
In addition to excelling in adult occupant protection, Tata Motors prioritized child safety in the design of the 2024 Nexon. The SUV achieved an impressive score of 44.52 out of 49.00 in the child occupant protection category.
During the frontal impact test, the rearward-facing child seats for both a 3-year-old and an 18-month-old demonstrated nearly full protection, ensuring the safety of the youngest passengers. The side impact evaluation emphasized comprehensive protection provided by the Child Restraint Systems (CRS), with three-point belts in all seating positions as standard.
The Tata Nexon goes above and beyond by offering the option to disconnect the passenger airbag when a rearward-facing CRS is installed in the front passenger position, meeting safety requirements. The CRS installation passed for all positions, underlining Tata Motors’ unwavering commitment to ensuring the highest level of child safety.
Mr. Mohan Savarkar, Chief Product Officer at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Safety is ingrained in our DNA, and we are proud to earn the prestigious 5-star rating from Global NCAP for the new Nexon as per the enhanced 2022 protocol. It upholds this legacy, showcasing our unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence.” With this latest achievement, Tata Motors continues to set benchmarks in vehicle safety, reinforcing its position as a leader in the automotive industry.
