The all-new Volkswagen Tayron R-Line launched in India at Rs 46.99 lakh
The new Volkswagen Tayron R-Line hits India at Rs 46.99 lakh with bold styling, turbo power & a premium cabin for SUV buyers.

Volkswagen India has recently launched the Tayron R-Line with an introductory price of Rs 46.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). Basically, the car is an elongated 3-row version of the Tiguan R-Line. This new vehicle is especially designed to replace the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace globally. However, the Tayron R-Line offers sporty R-Line stylish allure with refined interiors and feature-packed performance.
The 2026 Tayron R-Line will be based on VW’s MQB EV0 platform. This demonstrates that the brand is bringing a fresh European design language to the Indian automotive landscape. With sharp design tweaks, turbocharged performance, and a 7-seater configuration, this SUV is ready to target customers who are looking for practicality and comfort. Let’s take a closer look at the all-new Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.
Striking Exterior Design

When looking at the car at first glance, the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line might look similar to the 5-seater Tiguan. This might be because of similar design proportions showcasing its rugged boxy stance and aerodynamically challenged crease. The front fascia of the car gets redesigned Matrix LED headlights and a revised centerpiece with an LED light bar.
While looking at the rear profile of the car, the brand offers an LED connected taillight with an integrated illuminated Volkswagen logo at the rear as well as at the front panel. This SUV will be equipped with sporty 19-inch alloy wheels with gloss black cladding. Unlike the 5-door Tiguan that was brought via the CBU route, the Tayron is being assembled at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant.
Refreshed Updated Interiors

Not only the exterior, but also the interior looks similar to that of the Volkswagen Tiguan. While getting behind the wheel, the dashboard boasts a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. With a spacious cabin, the car offers leather upholstery with adjustable headrests for all passengers.

The 2026 Volkswagen Tayron R-Line offers some sophisticated features, which are mentioned below:

- Panoramic Sunroof
- Wireless Phone Charger
- 12-Way Powered Front Seats
- Ventilated Front Seats

For safety purposes, the car is equipped with 9 airbags, which are offered as standard. Other additional safety features include a 360-degree camera, EPS, ADAS level 2, Hill Control Assist, ABS, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: Engine & Performance

Under the hood, the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line will be powered by a 2.0L turbo-petrol engine that churns out 204 HP of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. This robust engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) that sends all power to the 4 wheels.
With this, the car possesses an AWD drivetrain. Talking about the figures, the car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.7 seconds before reaching the top speed of about 224 kmph.
