The Next-Gen 2026 Tata Tiago EV launched at Rs 6.99 lakh in India

Tata Motors has refreshed its most accessible electric hatchback with the launch of the 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift, priced from Rs 6.99 lakh ex-showroom in India. A sharper design, a richer cabin, more tech and stronger safety kit aim to keep the compact EV enticing for first-time buyers.

The next-gen 2026 Tiago EV pairs with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs with improved claimed efficiency, quicker DC fast charging, and a feature-loaded interior. Tata is clearly positioning the facelift as a more premium yet attainable city EV, one that offers enough range, comfort and safety to double as a family’s primary car in India. Refreshed Exterior Design

The 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift mirrors the sharper, more angular look of the refreshed Tiago hatchback, trading the earlier rounded cues for a cleaner, more modern face. The EV gets a tidier, body-colored panel in place of the old blanked-off grille treatment, along with revised bumpers and fresh alloy wheel designs.

While looking at the car from the rear, the updated Tiago EV gets all-new connected LED taillamps and a revised bumper. Other exterior updates include the dual-tone black sunroof, a shark-fin antenna and chrome-finish door handles.

New Dual-Tone Cabin Experience

Inside, Tata has overhauled the cabin with an upright dashboard and a floating 10.25-inch ultra-HD touchscreen on higher variants, immediately lifting perceived quality. A redesigned centre console, toggle-style window controls, a fabric-touch front armrest with storage, and rear AC vents make the interior feel more premium and practical than before.

The Tiago EV gets new door pads, a new dual-tone grey fabric upholstery, and a redesigned centre console. From the previous generation's model, the two-spoke steering wheel has been carried, also reflecting its all-new Tata EV logo offset.

Battery Options, and Range

Mechanically, the 2026 Tata Tiago EV continues with two familiar battery packs: 19.2 kWh (medium range) and 24 kWh (long range). The smaller pack is paired with a motor developing about 62 HP and 110 Nm, while the larger battery version produces around 75 HP and 114 Nm, giving the compact hatchback brisk city performance.

Tata claims a MIDC-certified range of up to 285 km for the 24 kWh variant, while the updated calibration delivers a usable real-world range of roughly 205–215 km, depending on conditions. The smaller 19.2 kWh pack targets city-focused users with a claimed usable range of around 160–170 km, making it ideal for urban commutes.

Safety & Features

Safety sees a notable step up, with six airbags now offered as standard across the Tiago range, replacing the earlier dual-airbag setup. The EV also benefits from an electronic stability program, hill-hold control and a strengthened chassis, supporting the model’s four-star Global NCAP safety rating.

On the features front, the Tiago EV packs in equipment usually seen in a segment above, including a 360-degree camera with multiple 2D/3D views, blind-spot/blind-view monitoring, dual wireless phone chargers, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps. The electric version further adds EV-specific touches like auto-demist and high-beam alert while retaining City and Sport drive modes plus multiple levels of regenerative braking.
