The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released the monthly sales data of motorcycles in India for July 2023. The data shows the top ten best-selling motorcycles in the country, as well as the total sales of motorcycles in the month. The data also reveals the market share and performance of the two-wheeler manufacturers in India.

Hero dominates the sales chart

Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has once again dominated the monthly sales chart of motorcycles in India. According to the SIAM data, Hero sold 2,38,340 units of its popular Splendor model in July 2023, making it the top-selling motorcycle in the country. The Splendor has been consistently leading the sales chart for several months, thanks to its affordable price, reliable performance, and high fuel efficiency.

The second spot in the list was occupied by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), which sold 1,31,920 units of its Shine model in July 2023. The Shine is a 125cc commuter bike that offers a smooth ride, good mileage, and attractive design. The Shine has been gaining popularity among urban and rural customers alike, as it caters to their daily commuting needs.

The third position in the list went to Bajaj Auto, which sold 1,07,208 units of its Pulsar range of motorcycles in July 2023. The Pulsar is a sporty and stylish bike that comes in various variants and engine capacities. The Pulsar is known for its powerful performance, aggressive looks, and advanced features. The Pulsar has been appealing to the young and adventurous riders who want to stand out from the crowd.

The fourth spot in the list was taken by another Hero model, the HF Deluxe, which sold 89,275 units in July 2023. The HF Deluxe is a 100cc bike that offers a comfortable ride, easy handling, and low maintenance. The HF Deluxe is one of the most affordable bikes in the market, and is suitable for both urban and rural customers.

The fifth position in the list was claimed by yet another Hero model, the Passion, which sold 47,554 units in July 2023. The Passion is a 110cc bike that offers a stylish look, decent performance, and good mileage. The Passion is aimed at the customers who want a bike that is both practical and attractive.

Other contenders in the top ten

The rest of the top ten best-selling motorcycles in India for July 2023 were:- Bajaj Platina with 36,550 units- TVS Raider with 34,309 units- TVS Apache with 28,127 units- Royal Enfield Classic 350 with 27,003 units- Honda CB Unicorn 150 with 26,692 units

The total sales of motorcycles in India for July 2023 stood at 7,66,978 units, which was a slight increase from the previous month’s figure of 7,62,715 units.

Conclusion

The SIAM data shows that the two-wheeler industry has been recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns that affected production and demand. However, with the easing of restrictions and the availability of vaccines, the industry is hopeful of achieving better growth in the coming months.

The data also shows that Hero MotoCorp has been able to maintain its leadership position by offering a range of models that cater to different segments and tastes. Honda and Bajaj have also been able to secure their spots in the top three by offering quality products that deliver on performance and features. TVS and Royal Enfield have also shown their presence in the top ten by offering bikes that appeal to niche markets and loyal customers.
