Volkswagen India is gearing up to transform the festive buying experience for customers and car enthusiasts by passing the full GST 2.0 tax regime with full benefits across the models. This new implementation of the GST tax slab will be effective from September 22, 2025. The new tax reform will see substantial price drops across the brand’s model range. Further cementing Volkswagen's commitment to customer-centric pricing before the festival season approaches.
With the new rules and regulations, the previously applied Cess will now be abolished, and new rates will take place just ahead of the festive season. The introduction of the GST rate reduction benefits will be applicable on the Virtus, Taigun, and top-of-the-line Tiguan R-Line. The brand aims to revise pricing and offer additional discounts during the festive season to boost market demand while making VW sedans and SUVs more accessible than ever before.
Volkswagen’s decision came after the introduction of the new GST tax reforms introduced by the Government of India. Under the 56th GST Council Meeting, the new GST 2.0 will eliminate the additional cess tax and revise the new tax rates for several vehicle categories. Under the latest tax slab regime, small cars, bikes, and scooters with selected powertrain capacity and body dimensions will be placed under the 18% GST tax slab category.
While the larger cars and SUVs face a maximum of 40%, down from the previous 43–50%. For Volkswagen customers, these fiscal changes directly translate into meaningful savings, reinforcing the brand’s adaptability to evolving market policies.

Volkswagen India has announced the extension of the complete GST rate reduction benefit to its customers across its entire lineup. The new pricing will be beneficial and is mentioned in the table placed below:
Model | GST Reduction Benefits (INR) |
Up to Rs 66,900 | |
Up to Rs 68,400 | |
Up to Rs 3,26,900 |
Volkswagen’s aggressive pricing initiative positions the brand for enhanced competition in the Indian automotive market. By passing the GST 2.0, many benefits will be passed on to customers, and by offering attractive festive deals. With the implementation of the latest tax slab, all three cars, such as the Virtus, Taigun, and Tiguan R Line, will become more accessible than before.
The new GST 2.0 reform is a gift to the automotive brands ahead of the festival season. With increasing purchasing power and the potential to boost GDP, it also provides traditional strength to poise with the growth in sales trajectory while giving the buyers the best possible outcome values.
