Volkswagen Taigun Facelift GT Line Variant Detailed for India in 2026
Volkswagen has launched the 2026 Taigun facelift in India, offering the GT Line variant with sporty styling, advanced features, and comprehensive safety. The GT Line uses a 1-litre turbo petrol engine and is priced from Rs 10.60 lakh to Rs 19 lakh.

Volkswagen has introduced the first mid-life facelift of the Taigun in India, launching it with updated styling and features. The new Taigun is available in seven variants: Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, GT Line, Topline, GT Plus Chrome, and GT Plus Sport. The GT Line variant stands out for offering a comprehensive feature set at a competitive price.

GT Line Variant Features

The GT Line is based on the Highline Plus variant and adds several sporty enhancements. On the exterior, the GT Line features a refreshed front with LED headlights, a redesigned bumper, glossy black inserts, and a black skid plate. The side profile includes blacked-out ORVMs, roof rails, GT Line badges on the front doors, and 17-inch black alloy wheels. The overall silhouette remains similar to the previous model.
At the rear, the blacked-out theme continues with black TAIGUN lettering, a black skid plate, a GT Line badge, and a black strip on the rear bumper. The connected LED taillights now include sequential turn indicators.
Inside, the GT Line offers an all-black interior with Soul fabric upholstery and London Grey stitching. The headliner is black, and the variant features sporty aluminium pedals. The steering wheel is a three-spoke flat-bottom design, standard across all variants. The front seats do not have electric adjustment or ventilation, which are reserved for higher variants.
The dashboard houses a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with touch-based AC controls below. Red ambient lighting runs across the dashboard, and the decor includes Glossy Black with Edgy Opulence inserts. The GT Line also features a single-pane electric sunroof.
Equipment and Safety
The GT Line comes equipped with key features such as an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, push-button start, cruise control (automatic only), automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, and a cooled glove box.
Infotainment includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 15 built-in apps, voice commands, a 6-speaker sound system with amplifier and subwoofer, and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, hill-hold assist, automatic headlights, front and rear parking sensors, a rear view camera, tyre pressure monitoring, auto-dimming IRVM, rear defogger, and ISOFIX mounts.
Engine and Pricing
The GT Line is powered by a 1-litre turbo petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic transmissions. Volkswagen is expected to price the Taigun facelift between Rs 10.60 lakh and Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 2026 Taigun will compete with models such as the Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Curvv, Skoda Kushaq Facelift, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, Citroen Basalt, and the upcoming Nissan Tekton.
For additional visual enhancements and features, buyers can consider the GT Plus Sport variant, which comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
