Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics giant, has showcased its SU7 electric sedan in India. This event marks part of Xiaomi's 10th-anniversary celebrations. The SU7 was first introduced globally in December last year.
Key Features
- Range: The SU7 offers an impressive range of up to 830km (CLTC).
- Performance: It boasts 673hp and 838Nm torque with an all-wheel-drive system.
- Speed: In its top-spec, the SU7 can accelerate from 0-100kph in under 2.8 seconds.
Design and Styling
The design of the SU7 sedan was crafted in-house under the leadership of Sawyer Li, Xiaomi's head of design. Li has previously worked on projects such as the BMW iX and Circular Vision Concept. The SU7 measures 4,997mm in length, 1,963mm in width, and stands 1,440mm tall.
The car's sleek and aerodynamic shape resembles models like the Porsche Taycan and BYD Seal, contributing to a low drag coefficient of just 0.195. Inside, the SU7 features a minimalist layout with a large touchscreen at the center, a digital driver’s display, a head-up display, and a panoramic glass roof.
Battery and Performance
The SU7 comes with three battery options in China:
- 73.6kWh Battery: Offers up to 700km range with rear-wheel drive.
- 94.3kWh Battery: Provides up to 830km range, also with rear-wheel drive.
- 101kWh Battery: Powers the SU7 Max trim with all-wheel drive, offering a range of 800km. This variant produces 673hp and 838Nm torque, achieving 0-100kph in just 2.78 seconds. The top speed of the SU7 Max is 265kph.
Both rear-wheel-drive models produce 299hp and 400Nm torque.

Launch in India
Currently, Xiaomi has not confirmed any plans to launch the SU7 electric sedan in India. In China, the SU7 starts at ¥215,900 (Rs 24.79 lakh) for the base model, ¥245,900 (Rs 28.23 lakh) for the mid-level SU7 Pro, and ¥299,900 (Rs 34.42 lakh) for the top-tier variant.
