Yamaha Aerox Electric Launched in India, Offers 106 Km of Range on a Single Charge
Yamaha enters India’s premium electric scooter market with the Aerox-E, blending a 106 km range, sporty aesthetics, and smart connectivity.

Yamaha Motor India has taken a bold step in its electric mobility portfolio. The Japanese two-wheeler giant has recently launched the all-new version of the Aerox Electric in India. Yamaha Aerox E will be the first electric scooter of the brand in the country, marking its entry into the premium electric scooter segment. The Aerox-E blends the brand’s signature performance and sportiness with cutting-edge electric technology.
With a host of advanced features, impressive powertrain specs, and smart connectivity, the Aerox-E sets a new benchmark in India’s evolving electric two-wheeler landscape. It promises to cater to enthusiasts seeking an electric alternative without compromising on style, power, or convenience. Let's check out the possible details and new features of the all-new Aerox Electric.
Sporty Design

The Yamaha Aerox-E stays true to its petrol-powered predecessor with an aggressive and aerodynamic design. The e-scooter features a twin-LED headlight, sharp body contours, and minimalistic yet functional bodywork. The scooter weighs about 139 kg, slightly more than its gasoline counterpart due to the battery pack, but it remains subtle and engaging to ride. The front fascia of the e-scooter carries forward from the existing Aerox 155. The brand titled it as a Heart-Shaking Speedster design consisting of a maxi-scooter design philosophy with a distinctive X center motif in the front.
Yamaha Aerox E: Battery & Range
Aerox E comes with a dual 3 kWh detachable battery, delivering a certified range of 106 kilometers on a single charge. The electric motor produces a peak power output of approximately 9.4 kW (around 12.6 HP) and a robust torque of 48 Nm. However, the charging options have not been revealed by the brand, but they have hinted at the possibility of a variety of charging options for the battery pack.
The above configuration is complemented by advanced riding aids, including three selectable ride modes—Eco, Standard, and Power—integrated with an additional ‘Boost’ mode for sudden bursts of speed. Added practicality comes with a reverse mode to facilitate parking in tight spots.
Technology and Safety Features

Yamaha has loaded the Aerox-E with premium tech features such as a 5-inch full-color TFT display that provides real-time information such as speed, battery status, range, and connectivity options via the Y-Connect mobile app. This app integration enables maintenance reminders, tracks the last parked location, and monitors ride data.
For safety, the electric scooter offers front and rear disc brakes assisted by single-channel ABS and traction control for enhanced stability under braking. The scooter also features a smart key system for keyless ignition, as well as an ergonomically designed riding posture that strikes a balance between comfort and control.

Market Positioning
For the 2025 edition, the Yamaha Aerox-E is expected to be priced around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom), making it competitive against rivals like the Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Simple One. Yamaha plans to initially launch it in major Indian cities with robust EV ecosystems, with a broader rollout planned for 2026.
Conclusion
Yamaha signals its long-term commitment to India’s electric mobility transition while appealing to performance-focused riders who desire style, power, and smart features in an eco-friendly package.
