Key Highlights
- Yamaha unveils 70th Anniversary R15 and R3 editions in Brazil
- R15 priced at BRL 24,090 and R3 at BRL 37,790
- Special editions feature white and red racing paint with speed block graphics
- Both models retain existing engines and mechanical specifications
Special Edition Features

The new editions use the white and red color combination that Yamaha once used for its factory racing Grand Prix bikes. This color scheme was prominent before Yamaha switched to its blue theme in the 1990s. Both motorcycles also display speed block graphics, which are historically linked to Yamaha race bikes from the 1970s.
The red finish appears on the fairing, fuel tank, and side panels. The rest of the bodywork is finished in white. These visual updates aim to celebrate Yamaha's racing heritage. Mechanically, the motorcycles remain unchanged from the standard versions.
Technical Specifications
The Yamaha R15 is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This motor produces 18.8bhp and 14.7Nm of peak torque. The R3 uses a 321cc, parallel-twin engine that generates 41bhp and 29.42Nm of torque.
The R3 received an international update last year, which included a new front end and additional features. These changes have helped the R3 stay competitive in the sub-400cc motorcycle segment. The R15 is expected to receive an update in the near future, both internationally and in India.
Market Availability
Currently, the 70th Anniversary Editions of the R15 and R3 are exclusive to the Brazilian market. Yamaha has not announced plans to launch these special editions in other countries. The R15, in particular, has seen significant success in India, but there is no confirmation of an Indian release for these editions yet.
