Lets take a look at which variant gets what features & what are the missing features in the mid & base variant of Altroz Racer.

Key Highlights:
Tata Motors has launched the Altroz Racer at an introductory starting price of Rs 9.5 Lakh (ex-showroom). The hot hatch is available in 3 variants i.e. R1, R2 and R3. The R1 being the base variant is priced at Rs 9.5 Lakh (ex-showroom), the R2 mid variant is priced at Rs 10.5 Lakh (ex-showroom), and the R3 top variant is priced at Rs 11 Lakh (ex-showroom).
There's no difference between the three variants in terms of engine, gearbox, and other specs. That means all the three variants come with a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine, a 6 speed manual gearbox, 120 PS of max power, 170 Nm of max torque, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes and 185/60 R16 tyre size.
However, the three variants do have some difference in terms of equipment and feature list. Lets take a look at which variant gets what features and what are the missing features in the mid and base variant of the Altroz Racer.

Based on the feature list, we consider the base and the top variant to be VFM (value for money) and more sensible. The mid variant gets a price bump of Rs 1 Lakh over the base variant. This doesn't seem that justifiable. That's because the mid variant only gets 5 extra features over the base variant. The sunroof, 360 degree camera and 7 inch driver display are the major addition among the 5 features, other 2 being a wireless charger and xpress cool. Moreover, the ventilated seats and connected car tech is reserved for the top variant which is just 50,000 more expensive than the mid variant. Therefore, if you are planning to buy the Altroz Racer, you should go with the base R1 variant. And if you can spend Rs 1.5 Lakh more, you should skip the mid R2 variant and go with the top R3 variant.
