Hyundai, the well-established automaker in the country, revamped Hyundai Creta which was undoubtedly one of the most successful and preferred SUV. The Hyundai Creta E is the new petrol base variant. Initially available with only a diesel variant, the base E trim now offers the petrol range and is priced at Rs 9.82 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, India).
The new trim has received couple of design and visual updates. Let’s see the new updates about Creta
The fresh design
The South Korean carmaker has revamped Hyundai Creta with a new design which is a step forward. The split headlamps and tail lamps are Hyundai’s new international design language and so is the cascading grille. Some of the stunning elements like the floating roof, split-DRLs, character lines on the side, and quirky-looking rear make the new Creta a unique option in comparison to its rivals. Likewise, the 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels gel well with the car’s unusual styling. Dimension wise, the new Creta has been extended lengthwise, its wider and sits lower than the outgoing model. Overall, the new Creta comes across as a smoother and well-rounded design that just takes a little while to get used to.
The inside viewWith the front seat adjusted according to the height of the user, there is sufficient legroom, and it is adequate for six-footers as well. Headroom is also well-taken care off. Looking at the seat squab, the cushioning is lavish, offer excellent thigh support and a well-judged backrest recline angle means one can spend considerable time stuck in traffic jams as well.
The unmatched features
Hyundai is known to offer loads and loads of features and the Creta is no different. The brand offers a panoramic sunroof, cooled front seats, wireless charging, a powered driver’s seat and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with connected car features.

The SUV has been made equipped with unbeatable yet standard elements like headlamps, powered mirrors, all-four discs, Bose sound system, smartphone connectivity, TPMS, ambient lighting, integrated air purifier, and BlueLink connectivity.

The Creta comes with a multi-function, flat-bottom steering wheel and a center mounted infotainment display system that has Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Hyundai's Blue Link Connectivity Technology. The dashboard looks modern with minimalist design touches.

Creta is powerful and efficient

Creta’s highly evolved and responsive powertrains make driving a complete joy. It is equipped with gasoline engines feature weight-saving all-aluminum construction which gives superior fuel efficiency, and its Dual Overhead Camshafts (DOHC) plus Dual Variable Valve Timing ensures enhanced performance. The engine is BS6 compliant, 1.5-litre engine, coupled to this six-speed manual pushing out 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Gearbox expanded to have a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission which gives the all-new Intelligent Variable Transmission.
But it is down on displacement and power compared to the older car. Does it mean that Creta is underpowered? No, not at all. In daily driving conditions, it seems perfect. The BS6 engine always ensures a great drivability experience. Clutch and gear-shift action are both, incredibly light and smooth. Additionally, for quick overtakes, the strong mid-range does the trick.
It has Traction Control Mode which regulates slip control for the right/left wheels while adjusting engine torque and gear shift patterns. The new Traction Control Mode automatically fine-tunes Creta’s front-wheel drive system in order to adapt to difficult driving conditions whenever arises.

Offering amazing ride quality has always been the Creta’s USP and that’s what has been carried forward in the new car too. While it’s slightly firmer than the older car, bump absorption is superb and the new Creta still manages to glide over undulations with the utmost comfort. Straight-line stability is good as the new Creta makes for an effortless mile muncher.
Safety
Creta ensures utmost safety for its users and helps you drive safer. Creta’s body structure made with advanced ultra-high tensile-strength steel to give it exceptional crash resistance, ensures first level of protection. Dual front airbags and an Anti-Locking Braking system are standard safety equipment package along with a long list of optional safety features.
ConclusionThe versatile Creta is a perfect choice for daily commute whether it’s a solo trip or a weekend outing with family and friends, Creta makes life a lot easier. A wide range of optional extras can help the user to customize Creta as per the individual requirements.
