If Tata Tiago was a safe hatchback, the Tata Altroz is safer as it lives up to its reputation for being the safest hatchback in India. Recently, Tata Motors introduced the Tata Altroz dark Edition with advanced features and a touch of black in everything it does. The Tata Altroz comes in a range of variants that run on petrol and diesel engines. Besides, the Tata Altroz offers a turbo model. An exciting aspect of the Tata Altroz is the iRA connected car technology (an indigenous technology built in India for India) that offers 27 connected car features.

The Tata Altroz is available in nine variants with its pricing structure as follows. All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi prices.

Tata Altroz Exteriors

The Tata Altroz offers a gold standard of design for its interiors and exteriors. This futuristic design draws inspiration from the impact 2.0 language. A stunning feature of the Tata Altroz is its 90-degree opening doors that give the image of a magnificent bird soaring in the sky. Besides, it offers abundant space for everyone to descend comfortably.
The dual-chamber projector headlights illuminate the darkest of roads with absolute brightness to make it easy for the driver. In addition, it gets robust wheels in the R16 dual-tone laser-cut alloy wheels that simplify its handling and enhance its aesthetic profile.

The piano-black ORVM looks elegant and is electrically adjustable from the inside. The Daylight opening feature with its shooting comet beltline helps provide enhanced daylight entry and overall visibility.

The C-pillar mounted rear door hands impart a sporty look to the Altroz. The seamlessly integrated spoiler adds to the attraction and gives the Altroz a magnificent appearance. The LED DRLs and the split tail lamps add the necessary style quotient.

The black contrast roof is an admiring feature that takes its appearance to the next level. In addition, the rain-sensing wipers automatically switch on when it senses rain to add to your convenience.

The Tata Altroz is available in various colours like High-Street Gold, Downtown Red, Midtown Grey, Avenue White, and Harbour Blue.

Tata Altroz Interiors

The cockpit-inspired interiors welcome you as you set foot inside the Tata Altroz. The modern, intelligent, and tastefully crafted interiors can amaze you and encourage you to embark on long drives.

The Floating Island layout with a serene-blue ambient light surround brightens up your mood, especially when driving at night. In addition, the metallic finish dashboard amplifies the premium feel and sets the mood for a peaceful driving experience.

The leather-wrapped gear level makes it easy to operate and adds a sense of luxury. In addition, the metallic finish on the inner door handles enhances the aesthetic appeal.

iRA connected car technology starts with the exquisite acoustic sound display by Harman. Moreover, the infotainment system comes with a 17.78cm touchscreen interface for added convenience.

The natural voice tech feature understands colloquial Hinglish.

The Xpress cooling feature calculates the cabin’s temperature and starts cooling down the interiors quickly, and alerts you when done.

The infotainment system works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to enhance your entertainment quotient. In addition, you can customise the infotainment theme according to your preferences using three options, Zeal, Zen, and Zing.

Other excellent iRA features include radio, USB connectivity, and voice command recognition.
The 17.78cm TFT digital instrument cluster provides all the information necessary for the driver.
This Altroz is India’s first hatchback to come with What 3 Words technology, which helps share precise locations accurate to the final three metres.

Tata Altroz Engine and Performance

The Tata Altroz draws its power from the BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines designed to deliver optimum power and excellent torque. The fine-tuned suspensions and the comprehensive control systems allow you to control your driving and ensure a trailblazing experience. In addition, Tata has recently introduced the new 1.2L i-Turbo engine to boost your driving experiences.

The petrol engine is the 1.2L Revotron BS6 model, whereas the diesel variant runs on the 1.5L Revotorq BS6 diesel engine. The ISS Idle Start-Stop function turns off the engine at signals and saves fuel. Pressing the clutch restarts the engine automatically.

This vehicle comes with multi-drive modes where the driver can shift between Eco, City, and Sports modes. However, there is no automatic transmission model in the Tata Altroz. Instead, all the variants connect with a 5-speed manual transmission with a reverse gear.

The Tata Altroz features a cruise control function to allow the vehicle to run at constant speeds on the highways.

Tata Altroz Ride, Handling, and Safety

The Tata Altroz comes with mandatory dual airbags for the driver and the front-seat co-passenger. These airbags form a significant part of the world-class protection offered to its occupants. The ALFA architecture and its comprehensive safety helped the Altroz achieve a 5-star Global NCAP rating.

ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture offers absolute safety for the passengers by absorbing all the impact of a collision. This vehicle features the latest version of ABS to prevent lock-up during panic braking and helps maintain directional stability. In addition, EBD distributes the brake force between the wheels to provide more efficient on-road control while braking.

The Corner Stability Control feature allows the Altroz to be in absolute control when negotiating winding roads. The reverse parking camera enhances rear visibility and allows for more accessible parking in tight spaces. In addition, children feel safe in the Altroz because it comes equipped with Isofix Anchorage for enhanced safety.

Besides, the car comes with various voice alerts and warnings to prevent unnecessary mishaps. The adjustable seatbelts and front fog lights are other safety aids available on this Tata Altroz hatchback.
