The Design

The Engine – Power and Handling

The Yamaha FZS FI boasts a powerful air-cooled 4-stroke 149cc SOHC double-valve single-cylinder, fuel-injected Blue Core engine that provides optimized settings to deliver superior acceleration and an exhilarating feeling when riding at high speeds. This engine has a 9.6:1 compression ratio and delivers maximum power of 12.4ps power @ 7250rpmand 13.3Nm torque @ 5500rpm.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F features a 4-stroke BSVI, 220cc patented DTS-I engine to deliver 20.4ps power and 18.55Nm torque to qualify as the most powerful bike in its segment. This engine pairs with a 5-speed transmission system to deliver excellent mileage and unparalleled excitement when riding at high speeds.

Safety Features

The FZS FI comes equipped with a 100/80 R17 front and 140/60 R17 rear tyre to offer low rolling resistance while delivering excellent fuel economy and good grip on the road surface. Both wheels feature disc brakes with the front wheel supporting ABS, ensuring improved braking performance. In addition, the in-built side stand engine cut-off switch ensures to switch off the engine when you apply the side stand, thus preventing untoward accidents.

The Pulsar 220F features a telescopic front and 5-step adjustable nitrox rear suspension to provide excellent ride control. In addition, the 220F features 280mm disc front and 230mm disc rear brakes to deliver high-quality performance. The broad rear tyre fitted on strengthened 5-spoke alloy wheels is capable of handling raw power.

Colour Variants and Pricing

The FZS FI offers five colour options and comes priced between Rs 110,700 and Rs 112,700. On the other hand, the Pulsar 220F is comparatively expensive at prices starting from 132,378. This bike comes in four colours.

Verdict

The Pulsar 220F is a powerful bike with a 220cc engine, whereas the FZS FI exudes class in almost every aspect. Moreover, the Bluetooth connectivity feature available on the FZS FI makes it an attractive proposition. At the same time, the Pulsar 220F is not a bad bargain at all.
